Adding asks to the queue and I feel like this
Happy one year anniversary to fictionfolk-culture-is :-) 🎉
[Not fictionfolk culture] any tips/help for kinsidering? Like what would thoroughly help me decide easier if i am That Guy or not?
Does this make sense...is this a valid question...
Of course it's a valid question :-) Some things that I have done in the past is to consume a lot of content with (character) in it and just ponder everything. EX.) If you feel comfortable going by that name, analysing your reactions to the source, explore any memories or feelings that you might find, or just surrounding yourself with stuff about your kin that may help find any reactions.
Maybe something that might help is to recreate something from the source, whether it be food, a book, an item, et cetera, and just think about your relationship to it. Ultimately, it's a lot of self-exploration that differs from person to person :-) Good luck, anon! Hope it goes well.
If anyone else has any other experiences or tips they'd like to add on, feel free!
not a submission, just a question is dissociation part of fictionkin? or feeling insecure about your appearance and body? dysphoria? I feel very lost today and I don't know who I am. My body doesn't feel right to me at all. it feels like I'm unknown on the inside, yet I know how to control this body.
"Hi there anon 👋 I'm sorry if this is hard to hear, but this sounds like more of a plural experience than a fictionkin experience 🫂 Feeling insecure or dysphoric about your appearance can be normal in a kinshift is common (although not always necessary to denote a shift), but losing your identity during a shift isn't typical from what I know." - Mod P
"I ain’t inside your brain but that doesn’t sound like being fictionkin if you’re unaware of who you are and you’re feeling a bodily discomfort akin to dysphoria but slightly off like how you’re describing it. I would look into system stuff.
But take this with a grain of salt because I don’t know you, anon. I’m just gathering from what I’m hearing. " - Mod W
If anyone else would like to add on or clarify anything, the replies are always open.
what does/can a kinshift entail if you kin a human?
Hi there anon! From what I know, kinshifts for a human could be similar to how they are with other non-human beings, maybe excluding the factor of non-human limbs or any bodily alterations your kin might have. I, Mod P, am not too knowledgeable on kinshifts, so if anyone else would like to add on, feel free to :-)
Hello! I just very recently learned the term Copingkin, and I’m very happy to have a term for something I’ve been experiencing for as long as I can remember. However, I have a bit of a question about what is normal/possibly related to kinning. So I’m copingkin of a nonbinary character, and for some reason whenever I read fics about them experiencing gender dysphoria, my gender dysphoria gets a lot worse. Is this something that happens to anyone else?
(please do correct if I used any terms incorrectly, I am very new to this community!)
Replies / comments open for anyone :-)
question: does this blog have a stance on endo systems
We support all fictionfolk identities, but are against ableism. And while we cannot stop anyone from interacting, the mods here are all anti endo/willogenic, and therefore will not be answering asks openly stating / supporting endogenic origins. No further asks will be answered on the topic, and no further asks should be sent in on it
(not a submission) i hope its okay for me to ask this here, but im wondering how to separate kin memories from…headcanons? i guess? im not sure, i just cant tell if these “memories” actually happened, or if its what i WANTED to happen, like an au or a headcanon. im sorry if im unclear, im having difficulties with it all. i guess i just need to know how to understand/remember my kin mems at all
No worries! :-) Maybe writing these memories / emotions down might help to decide if you remember it from source after reflecting on emotions towards it? Over time it definitely gets a lot easier to differentiate the two, but things might take their time to click into place. Overall just a lot of contemplating on if you remember it or if you're thinking up an au like you mentioned. Good luck to you, anon :-)
