I've seen several people in the Tumblr From fandom state their dislike of Sarah's ARC going into S2, and that's valid, but so far I'm honestly pretty fascinated by where they are taking this story with her.
I'm so invested because everyone who wants her gone/put in the box is 110% valid, Kenny's outburst after finding out her role in his father's death is 110% valid, and I do not blame him whatsoever for wanting to take some form of revenge by destroying her last momento from her brother (I'm amazed he isn't trying to strangle her right now, that is some A-tier emotional restraint). Yet, despite everyone who is against Sarah being perfectly justified, I still feel for her situation as well.
Her desperation obviously drove her out of her right mind (exactly like Abby), to a point where she wasn't in enough control of her own thoughts to question the voices when they spoke to her (again, like Abby, who became convinced they were all in a dream and went on a killing spree). It is pretty impossible to come back from the murder of so many innocent people and she is fully responsible for her own actions despite the cracking sanity aspect, but watching her try and redeem herself is pretty compelling. I don't hate her in the same way that I don't hate Abby, neither character is a bad character/person, they just weren't strong enough mentally to avoid the psychosis brought about by their horrifying situation.
Should Sarah held accountable? Oh absolutely, Abby would have rightfully been put on trial at some point too if Boyd hadn't needed to kill her in order to protect Ellis, but I don't really want her dead just yet.
