DRAGONS. I absolutely adore dragons, but wyverns (or dragonetes in portuguese) hold a special place in my heart <3 — probably because they look like bats? Just scaly and fire-breathing lol

I’m also obsessed with hippogriffs, unicorns, and kelpies — mythical horse-like creatures are just chef’s kiss <3. And of course, the classic werewolf, zero shame there

But my ultimate favorite from Brazilian folklore? The Boitatá (yes, its just one): a massive fire serpent, protector of forests, who burns those daring enough to set fields ablaze. There’s also the version where it’s a snake that swallowed countless animal eyes, growing luminous over time. Peak.

"A barn church or barn chapel is a specific type of clandestine church, built in times that a certain church was illegal but tolerated as long as the churches were not specifically looking like churches. These were no elaborate buildings but simple structures without pews. They were design to hold rather large kneeling and standing congregations.

In rural areas those clandestine churches usually mimicked a barn, hence the name. In towns and cities people were more creative, hiding churches in houses and warehouses."

Please tell me about Oleh and his stallion?

According to the legend, it was prophesied by the pagan priests that Oleh would take death from his stallion.

To defy the prophecies, Oleh sent the horse away. Many years later he asked where his horse was, and was told it had died. He asked to see the remains and was taken to the place where the bones lay. When he touched the horse's skull with his boot a snake slithered from the skull and bit him. Oleh died, thus fulfilling the prophecy
