June 27th, 2015 was the day I took the first step on a concept that had been brewing in my heart for a while. I was at a point in life where my world revolved around someone else. Someone i loved deeply. Someone who’s dreams overpowered the existence of my own. Someone whose support was genuine as long as my goals didnt come before him. Beafrida was built with blood & tears through rain & fire & a daily dose of emotional hell. So today I sit here & type to you... strong ass being who people call crazy, or say that your priorities are off, or say that your goals are unrealistic, or that the progress you have made is no big deal. Today my love, i applaud you. & I am here to remind you, as cliche as it may sound, that whatever the fuck it is that you want, it is up to YOU to get it. Noone & i repeat NOONE has the strength to stop something you put in motion for yourself. If you can see it inside your head when you close your eyes, its already yours. Today I would like to remind you that regardless of what social media is shoving down your throat every single day - Nobody is perfect! We all have our struggles, fears and insecurities. The past days I suddenly had a severe drop in mood and started to cry 3 times per day because I think that I'm ugly and too fat. The trigger was a photoshoot I did with other fellow kimono ladies the other day. It was a fun day but seeing me in direct comparison with all these skinny, flawless girls made me cringe how ugly I am. Sure the pictures were not taking from flattering angles and at a bad timing maybe - but yet I started to feel bad about myself. Looking down at my ever growing fat tummy and legs while sitting on the couch didn't make things better. The wrinkles creeping up on my face recently are upsetting me too. Usually I'm quite alright with my body and I don't care for this beauty nonsense, but I believe that Japan/Tokyo can put quite a pressure on you with everyone dressed in high fashion, always perfect hair and makeup and skinny as a bone. And social media doesn't help either. It might be just a stupid phase but I just wanted to remind the people who might think I'm so amazing and all that I'm not better than anyone else and have my insecurities too. Don't compare yourself to others and try to love yourself.
