@OhZeneshh
Tenesha, pleased to meet ya!
This young lady has caught my attention as of late, and being the curious woman I am, I had to FRTT her! As we all know, today's trends have been rising. Yet, a few popular ones that have been appealing to me have been: the curly fro, the ombre & the red dye. What a better candidate than Tenesha who has experienced all three, right?! Let's get to knowing.
1.) Red hair is a very high maintenance color to keep up with. If you don't mind sharing, what hair dye have you relied on to deliver your red? Any hair color depositing products that you may use?
The red I have now is actually a rinse. I used Avatar Semi-Permanent Dye in the color "Apple". No, there are no hair color products that I use.
2.) What is your current shampoo and conditioner of use at the moment? Are these products sulfate free?
The shampoo/conditioner I use is Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Butter and yes, both are Sulfate-Free.
3.) As a woman with hair color, would you recommend cold showers or warm showers? If you use warm showers, have you noticed change in hair color? If you use cold showers, have you noticed change in hair color? Such as fading.
I like to take hot showers. When I want to wet my hair to co-wash, I turn the water to cool. When I use cool water on my hair it does reduce the fading rather than using hot water.
4.) Seeing that you have a great amount of hair, is their any certain hair tool, such as a wide tooth comb, that you may use for detangling?
Yes, I do use a wide tooth comb along with a big detangling brush.
5.) What are your go to hair products at the moment?
I like to try different products but as of right now, I really enjoy Shea Moisture Products such as the Deep Conditioning Treatment & their Curling Smoothie.
6.) Do you use a diffuser or allow air dry?
I like to air dry my hair most of the time, if time allows. When I don't have a lot of time, I choose to blow dry my hair.
7.) Any past hair dyes/chemicals that required a lot of maintenance or caused severe hair damage that you do not recommend for our viewers? Why?
I had a very bad experience about two summers ago. I tried to dye my hair myself. Going from black to blonde in less than 2 weeks caused major damage to my hair. I developed a lot of breakage and thinning within my hair. It's still not back as healthy as it once was. Now, I try to stay away from any permanent color. If I do choose to reach for color, I prefer a dark dye.
8.) When you apply heat to your hair, do you use any heat protecting serums/products?
Yes, I use a blow out cream before I blow dry my hair and a heat protectant. Usually TRESemme or Fructis products.
9.) How many times a year do you choose a hair trim?
Since I wear my hair curly so much, I don't choose to get it trimmed that often. At times, I will go months before I straighten it or get it trimmed.
10.) We all have battled with split ends and they can be a nightmare. Any tips on treatments for combatting split ends that you would recommend our viewers?
I would just recommend to keep your hair and ends moisturized to avoid breakage.
11.) Describe your hair on a good versus bad day?
A good hair day for me is when my curls are extra defined, big and bouncy. A bad hair day is a couple days without doing anything to it. The outcome is a big frizzy mess!
12.) Any at home remedies, such as coconut oil or deep conditioners, that you would recommend our viewers? Why?
Yes! I choose a coconut and olive oil treatment regularly. It keeps your hair soft and moisturized at all times.
13.) How many times a week or month do you condition?
I happen to co-wash everyday.
14.) Any hair vitamins that you may be consuming? If so, which/what are they.
I do not.
15.) Last but surely not least, how many times a week/month do you retouch the color of your hair?
I haven't retouched the red yet, I'm going to go darker in maybe 2 weeks. So I'd say every 5-6 weeks I retouch.
