          →  tony loves reading and his collection of books is impressive. that includes fiction, non-fiction, scientific papers, comics, everything. he’s been transitioning to audio books lately just because he’s so busy, but he still likes buying physical books. he’s particularly fond of long flights in the iron man armor while listening to a book.

          →  adding to the buying books thing, he also likes supporting small/local/family-run businesses. sure, you’ll see him at starbucks, but you’re way more likely to find him at a tiny cafe around the corner in the less touristy areas. he’s friends with quite a few business owners in the areas he has homes in, be it NY or LA.

tony  pauses,  looks  up  from  his  hands  ---  fidgeting  in  his  lap,  a  clear  tell  of  his  stress  ---  to  look  up  at  maya.  they  had  started  on  a  completely  unrelated  subject,  but  conversation  had  spiraled  towards  the  avengers  and  the  accords  somehow.  "i'm  not  trying  to  make  a  point  about  anything  here.  i've  made  the  choices  i  felt  were  the  right  ones  to  make,  and  we  still  ended  up  here."  he  leans  back,  gestures  around  to  the  mostly-empty  avengers  compound.  "but  you  tell  that  to  people,  and  they  say 'whatever  lets  you  sleep  at  night',  but  that's  not------  i don't.  they  haunt  me  anyway."
