Royce Da 5'9" - Layers (2016) Royces most recent studio album, Layers. One thing about Royce, he's always been very consistent lyrically throughout his whole career. He's had some Ups and downs on production and subject matter but rain or shine this guy can always rap. Layers is perfect until you get about half way through it. Track 10 to be exact. "Hello ". This was the first that that started to lose me. Then missed came up next and I didn't care much for it either. Fortunately track 12 is DOPE. It gets right back on track with that song. Unfortunately the album starts to lose me again towards the end though. I think if you cut 4 or 5 tracks out this would have been an even better album. Pretty much the entire first half is perfect, the second half is hit or miss. Royce da 5'9" - Success is Certain (2011) This album was good enough for me to buy on both vinyl and cd. This us easily my favorite solo Royce project. It has a bit it everything. Bangers, (merry go round, Writer's Block) emotional tracks, (Security), and just feel good smooth songs (On the boulevard, On my own planet). I first heard this album 7 years ago and still play some if it already weakly.
