With an exaggerated eye roll, Astarion let out a disappointed sigh, having hoped for something a bit more exciting. "Apparently, it's not in your nature to be fun either." he quipped, sounding bored.

"Don't tell me you've never willfully done anything... less than moral?" Leaning in closer to Wyll as if to share a secret, he probed further, hoping to coax out even a single instance of wrongdoing. "Not even once?" His voice held a note of disbelief, questioning if this was just an attempt to keep up a heroic image, or if there truly were no such stories.

"You can tell me, you know. I certainly won't judge you." Given the many instances he could recall in his own life, he was convinced Wyll could say nothing to shock him, if he said anything at all.

Not that he couldn't face the truth, but violent words would make him dwell too much on violent memories, rendering Vigor useless with all-consuming guilt. ❝Does that make it easier? I'm not too sure...❞

      He wants to feel the weight of his guilt, allowing himself to fall to despair as penitence for his crimes, but that never solved anything. Instead, all he could do was focus on the present. ❝I do hope my actions are enough, but I can't expect forgiveness... so I never tried to ask.❞

"You heard that, didja?" Karlach chuckled although it didn't come off as carefree as her normal laughter. There was almost an embarrassment there, an anxiety that built and built until it crumbled into nothing. Her eyes glanced towards Wyll, and then back to her blanket, to the stuffed bear next to her bed. "Thanks. I'm good, soldier." That was a lie and she knew he would see through it. She was already kicking herself for doing it. "It's--- it's not all good but I don't know what to say."

Without another word, Lucia placed her hands gently on his side, calling on her oath to heal him. Her hands were silver hued for a moment before the color faded away, hopefully leaving Wyll feeling better than before.

"There, better?" While her main skills were in combat, in using her greatsword to protect those who couldn't protect themselves, she could also use a few healing spells, on the off chance they were needed.

"Mind you, I'm not much help for anything worse than that."

Karlach had never been much of a dancer. Well, in the traditional sense of the definition - she did it sometimes, those little twists and turns to stave off the restlessness that came with being a little too wound up and rearing to go. Wyll, she understood as a noble son (once, hardly now, though she would sooner keel over and die than say that out loud), had been educated on how to conduct himself at events and galas where his attendance had been mandatory. She'd had some idea of what went on at those when Enver had dragged her from one place to the next under the guise of 'scoping out the competition' but she had never really partaken in any of the dancing. The drinking, oh, she'd enjoyed that. Those tiny little sips of fizzy wines that had made her nose sting, in glasses that barely held anything.

She would've been content with watching him. He was light on his feet, good at it, too, in a way that made the tiefling smile. The edges of it turned fond as he extended his hand out to her. Karlach hesitated for a moment, and deep in the back of her mind came the notion that his had the potential for her to make an arse of herself.

A silly one, really, when she took into consideration the easiness of his smile. Wyll's fingers wiggled, and she moved to slip her hand right into his. It dwarfed his in the same way her own hands always had with others.

"Alright, @frontiersblade, but you gotta promise not to laugh if I fuck it up," she said. Gods, why did she feel so shy all of a sudden? He would not laugh at her, but correct her - or so she hoped anyway. "Never been asked to dance before."

Her blood is screaming. Everything hurts and everything feels so distant. She feels she has to rage just to make sense of it all, rip something apart or cut something in two. Anything to make the pain stop. Make it stop. The words are cool on panic, but still sounding underwater. She knows it's Wyll, she knows by the way his eyes hold hers, the way he calmly stares her down. Not like she's an enemy. But as a concerned friend. "It fuckin' hurts." She whispers, closes her eyes. "It hurts everywhere." She's not talking about the bruises or the cuts. She's talking about inside. Inside hurts.
