You know nothing about “hysteria” when you’re surrounded by a bunch of bed-ridden people attached to tubes who you just catered into last week at triage with complaints of cough and cold.

‪I rarely talked with my parents lately cause i know i’m gonna receive an earful abt resigning which I know should be the right thing to do when you value yourself, but I didn’t sign up for that.

‪Altruism in spite of our selfish nature. I tried to keep that in mind as I go along with my duty particularly with one of my patient who is alone and intubated inside a closed-room negative pressure isolation aside from his healthcare team who’s almost unrecognizable ‬cause we’re don with various layers of impermeable plastics ‪hiding our faces and everything that gives humanely effect, it’s as if we’re an alien with all the ppe’s on.

I bit off more than I could chew by going to work and deciding to continue and be present for that one patient who’s anxiety is over the roof because his tubes are in place for ghad knows how long and his friend who he just met died this morning.‬ ‪ ‪That’s when I know I still can’t quit, i won’t quit. My parents can’t understand me now, no parents can accept the fact that their daughter is expose day by day. No parents will allow their children to stand close to death everyday, but they need to understand too that this is the main reason i signed up for. I am not only their daughter, i am also a citizen of this country, i signed an oath to uphold, i marched down the picc aisle not to quit when they need us the most, i took this job exactly for this reason.

So i’m sorry if i let you down this time.‬

I work for long hours, at least 12 hours a day but sometimes up to 16 hours. But this @corkcicle tumbler keeps my drink cold throughout my shift. After being symptomatic (fever, sore throat, body pain and cough) for days after an exposure, got NEGATIVE result, CLEARED by hosp, now I am back!!
