Dawn of the Bloody Queen and her Frozen Prince

Muddle rose from her spot in the den with a groan. Her tail flicking blood and mud drops off onto one of the other lionesses. Her albino snake wrapped around her stomach as she marched into the howling snowstorm outside.

The ground was splattered red with the blood of hyenas from the night before. “I see you have guarded us well my queen.” A low whisper of  voice could be heard from above her. She looked up and saw the frozen prince, Marsh.

He smiled and laid down on the frozen rock under him. “I will gladly rule with you when our king passes on.” The snow blurring his icy coat and frosty white mane. All you could see was the brown of his markings and frosted blue nose and eyes.

“Oh my what a lovely proposal you offer.” Muddle purred and picked up a large bone sticking out from the snow. “Tell me oh frozen prince, why does the winter storms never stop?” it had been months since the frozen prince was brought into the pride.

Woe perked up as soon as she heard mewling outside. It was a blizzard the pride had never seen before. Never stopping but only growing colder. The lionesses begged her not ta venture outside the dens. They had just lost the three princes of the pride and now three lionesses were lost in the cold. They wouldn’t loose their shaman in this storm.

She shrugged the others off and dashed into the blank white world. The rocks beneath her paws frozen in the cold. A small cub with ice colored fur lay in a bundle of leaves in the snow. Silver paw prints vanished in the distance as the wind picked up.

Woe picked the cub up and rushed him back into the dens with the others. It was a long night many months ago.

Marsh growled and picked at a loose pebble with his claws. “How should I know? I’m nothing but a lion. The weather doesn’t concern me.” His words were stopped by the king calling all who were out back inside the dens. It seems something important is going on today.
