I haven’t made an official post about last Thursday because I honestly still can’t find the words. ❄️ I know I’ve posted my story many times before but it’s become such a huge part of who I am today that it bears repeating. When my sister was about 3 and I was about 7, I helped her cross the street to play with a neighbor when a car raced through the stop sign at the corner and she went flying. I remember every second vividly, but what I remembered most as a child was every adult pushing me out of the way to help her. When I was sent to stay with a family friend while she was in the hospital I knew they all blamed me. I was the older sister, it was my job to keep her safe and I had failed. I isolated myself from my family. I couldn’t let anyone down if I kept to myself. It wasn’t until I watched Frozen back in 2013 that my eyes were opened to what I had put my sister through all those years. Watching Anna and Elsa push each other away and find their way back gave me the courage to confront my own pain and fear and finally move forward. ❄️ Frozen is the reason my sister and I have the relationship we do today. I miss her every second of every day and there is not a single person on this planet I would have considered sharing this with. Being able to see the people who are responsible for bringing us as far as we’ve come and experiencing the powerful conclusion of Anna and Elsa’s journey with her by my side is a memory I will treasure for the rest of my life. ❄️ Frankie, thank you for jumping on a plane without hesitation to join me for this magical night. Thank you for forgiving me for everything I put you through and standing firmly by my side no matter what. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and being the absolute best friend I’ll ever have. @misselliehoneybee thank you for being the person who made this possible. Thank you for seeing how much Frozen means to me and making sure I got an invite. And most of all thank you to @colettelynn for trusting Ellie’s recommendation and inviting me to the red carpet. You can’t know what you did for us and I am eternally grateful. ❄️ #frozen2 #frozen2premiere #redcarpet #frozen #intotheunknown #elsacosplay @disneyanim (at The El Capitan Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4vY8G0pQzY/?igshid=1kuamxpmxy0z8
