Batman1809 wrote some of my favorite Frozen fanfics on fanfiction.net. The last of his frozen stories (or at least from his main series, not his short stories) was called "Frozen VI: The Legend of the Snow Queen," and was published September 15, 2015. This story was meant to be the last of the series, but he never finished it. He lasted updated it on October 4, 2017. This was exactly two years before he deleted his profile info (his profile was last updated on Oct. 4, 2019).
I loved this story and have some vague but fond memories of reading it and always being happy when he posted new chapters. I remember my mom getting me a Sonic hamburger for supper one night and me eating it in my room while reading the latest chapter. That's such a happy memory now.
I remember getting really excited to learn Spanish because one of the characters in the story, Wes, spoke Spanish.
It's a shame that he never finished it. Me and a lot of other people will forever never know how the story ended. One person even left a review asking him to finish it. I hope he finished it in some form, even if he just typed it out on his home computer and never posted it. I hope that at least he himself got to have a happy ending to his story.
He never directly said why he left fanfiction.net and left the story unfinished, but he said things that can give you a pretty good guess. He complained of how people not leaving reviews and how discouraging it was not to get feedback, which is understandable.
He also said he was busy with stuff going on in real life, which is also understandable. He also mentioned working on an original story and losing his creativity for fanficions. Hard to finish a Frozen fanfic when you've lost your creative drive for it.
Another thing he talked about was how he was running into problems with the story that he didn't know how to fix. This makes me think he was at least partly coming up with the story as he came along, instead of thinking of the beginning and ending first. Doing it as you go along is never a good idea, and unfortunately, a lot of fanfiction authors seem very prone to doing this, which is probably why so many stories end up being left unfinished.
Part of me wishes he would write out a quick ending to the story, just to tie a little ribbon on top and give some closure so the story won't be left unfinished forever.
The image above is fan art he commissioned for his story and was done by the Tumblr artist Comickergirl.
Anyway, I'm glad that I still remember this story so many years later.
