So, at this point I'm probably giving Adam and Eddy waaaaaaaaay too much credit. But let's play. Let's assume that they realize that Hook is a sleaze bag with a history of violence towards women. Maybe they really did like the movie Frozen. Maybe they noticed that a loud portion of their fanom was creating a delusional ship around a vile character even though the words in the actual scripts were clearly demonstrating that this character was a terrible person.

I know Adam and Eddy have been lying in their recent interviews. We all know they have been lying.

I have faith in costume designer Eduardo Castro. I don't believe for one moment that Jennifer Morrison would ever encourage young women to date a man who has A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. MRJ's dismissal was beyond unprofessional. Something is wrong. This does not make sense. A wise fictional character once said that if something doesn't make sense it can't be real. One of our assumptions must be faulty.

What are our assumptions? Well, we assume Adam and Eddy are telling the truth. What if that is our faulty assumption?

Adam and Eddy love shockers. Wouldn't punking the entire fandom be the biggest shocker of all? Setting up a new cannon relationship (because right now that's all CaptainSwan is, a potential relationship) that is toxic and wrong only to show people this is what a toxic relationship looks like would be both "epic wish fulfillment" and an Epic Win. A lot of us are disgusted; a loud few are creating insane gifsets for the wedding of CaptainSwan. Adam and Eddy can already count it as a win. You two can consider yourselves the heirs to Andy Kaufman.

What if the point of this CaptainSwan BS is that even smart strong woman can be misled? In real life, everyone can be fooled no matter how smart they are. What if CS really is BS intentionally.

If this wasn't your plan, Adam and Eddy, it can still be your way out.

This show has some serious business to sort out. Boys, why do you think we're in here, huh? The only reason I'm in here is to make sure you have nothing to say for yourselves before I write this show off. Take a look around yourselves, Adam and Eddy. Go ahead, you take a good look. This show has written itself into a dark dark corner. But at the very tip top of one of those walls is a small open window, a way out. Adam and Eddy, Elsa is that window.

Having a character with a history of violence towards women whitewashed as a man of honor and live Happily Ever After? That does not make sense.

Having a character with a history of violence towards women exposed for the louse that he is by a woman? Now, that would make sense.

.

I'm nowhere near convinced, but I am willing to consider the possibility that Adam and Eddy aren't the worst writers in the world and proud misogynists to boot. Hardly a ringing endorsement, but right now, my official hypothesis is that Elsa will reveal that Captain Hook is Prince Hans, Emma will dump his violent women-hating ass, and soon Captain Hook will be gone for good.
