It’s been a kind of disappointing winter, all things concerned. Blossom’s aware that the Professor must be glad not to have to brave ice slicks and snowstorms, and Blossom has tried to be equally appreciative -- after all, it’s a very sensible stance to take and she’s nothing if not mature. So she smiled through the holidays and the new year, and refrained from complaining with her sisters on every passing, warm day.
Her valiant effort spanned two weeks before she’d had enough.
If winter won’t come, she’ll just have to take matters into her own
hands. Or, more accurately, lungs.
Blossom’s practically buzzing with energy and excitement as she surveys the lawn. The thought of Bubbles and Buttercup seeing their previously unseasonal-y green lawn covered in snow and icicles is enough to elicit a string of giggles. This plan is going to work fantastically!
She draws a breath and feels the familiar, frosty crackle respond in her chest. Drawing it out is, literally, as easy as exhaling; as soon as she does, a flurry of ice crystals kick up, catching and reflecting the sunlight. They cool the air in one fell swoop and fan out across the span of the lawn. As soon as they fall and form into hills and banks of snow, another wave follows. One precisely blown breath coats the edges of the house in rows of icicles, and frosts the window panes. ( perhaps those come out a little too frosty -- though she’s loathe to admit it, controlling the fine, small elements of her specialized power is still difficult. )
It looks beautiful and wintry and when she’s done, Blossom surveys her work with pride as she rifles through a mental list of how to explain this to the Professor. ( Not that she thinks he’ll be angry, persay. But it’s never good to be unprepared! )
-- That is, she surveys her work with pride until she realizes that she’s not alone. Satisfaction is forcibly replaced with alarm as she scrambles to make sure she hasn’t done anything careless.
❛ Ohmygosh! Mister, I’m really sorry -- I didn’t see you there! Did I get anything on you? It’s been a while and I’m not that -- I should have looked first! ❜
