These Fruity Pebbles meringues have a crispy exterior and a sweet, marshmallow-like interior. Fruity Pebbles cereal adds a splash of color and a fruity flavor to the classic meringue recipe.
Ingredients: 4 large egg whites. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal. A pinch of salt.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 200F 93C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a clean, dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites and salt on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the mixture. Once all the sugar is added, increase the speed to high and beat until glossy, stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the vanilla extract and Fruity Pebbles cereal. Using a piping bag or two spoons, create small mounds of the meringue mixture on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meringues are dry and crisp to the touch. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside with the oven door slightly ajar. Once completely cooled, remove the meringues from the oven, and they are ready to be enjoyed!
