Home early for once in what feels like forever ago
Monday- Video shoot, didn't get back in Cambridge until about 3.30am Tuesday morning
Tuesday- I think I actually went home a decent hour but then again I was up until the wee hours of the morning and all I wanted to do when I got home was sleep. I don't even know what I did when I got home and what time I got home...
Wednesday- work til 8, got home between 9/10pm
Thursday- Shopping in Cambridge with Lily then dance until 9pm and didn't get home til about 11pm maybe?
Friday- Had work til 8 then stopped by at uni to get photos off Sam, started talking, lost track of time and had to get the last train home. Didn't get home til midnight.
And then today.
Sunday- Work
Monday- Work
Tuesday- Work
Wednesday- Work (but then....)
Thursday- Ben Howard
Friday- CDC Summer Ball (stay over at Katie's)
Saturday- Home
I think it's been a good week though. Music video shoot hanging out with the Cambridge girls, shopping with Lily and having a nice little chat over coffee and I also proved that no matter what I will always be stupidly awkward and clumsy... (no one needs to know Lily, no one), as for dance it turns out we have a summer term for dance so yay! Little chat with Sam too which has resulted in me now working on a Cumberbatch drawing, also got shown a shortcut through a graveyard- I hope I didn't step on anyone's grave...
I haven’t really documented anything much on my blog lately so I thought I’d talk about the music video shoot yesterday (I kinda wanna go do it again, so may as well relive it)
Took about an hour to get to set where we sat around outside for a bit until we needed to get our passes. A very slightly issue when they couldn’t find a few people on the list (including Sam and Kate) but they were good about it and just added them on. Waited around a little bit more until we were finally let through.
And guess what we did. Once we were in we sat around again waiting. This was an outside shoot and it was a lovely sunny day so we sunbathed. Then comes the first six sacrifices, as Sam called it, basically they chose the six best people and drove them off to the actual set for the scene. A few minutes later we were given some crisps and chocolate then the rest of us were driven to set. Little did we know, one of the guys was still in the toilets…
Unfortunately, I can’t give away what we did but we shot the scene a few times. Some bag issues and tripping over issues and can’t see where we’re going issues and dodging stuff issues, some very minor leg injuries (and I mean minor, scratches basically) but other than that we came out alive.
We were then told to get back in the coach to be taken to the next set. The next set really was not that far, but hey ho, we got driven there. Again, there were some sacrifices made as we stood outside waiting. Some people had to change literally in front of everyone. Tops, bottoms, pretty happy I was not one of them. We were then told to go back in the stuffy coach but before I even sat down for too long I heard ‘the girl with the blue sunglasses on her head’ being called out so off I went along with Sean. We waited until they told us what to do, waited for them to say action and watched the coach and van drive off without us. Shot the scene a few times then waited for the coach and van to come pick everyone else up.
I don’t know where the others went after they left us to do the previous scene but after we were dropped off on our/my third set, the coach drove off again to fetch the others and we got ready for the next scene. I kept watch for Sam and Kate, but couldn’t see any denim-clad legs from that far away so just watched the figures approaching us. No Sam and Kate but… remember that guy who was left behind? He was there, happy as anything and bouncing like a bunny. It might not seem like we’ve done a lot yet but by this time, we’ve been going for a good hour or two. He was still full of energy, we were slowly running out of it.
I can’t even say what Sam and Kate’s group did, but I noticed them to our far side doing another thing. I wasn’t sure whether Sam and Kate were there but I guessed they might be as they were not in my group. When they were happy with our scene, we got on the coach again to go back to where we were originally for lunch/dinner/more waiting.
There were some people sat on the grass when we got there but still no Sam and Kate. I had completely lost them so sat by myself and updated Kim a little. I was soon joined by the other two who were in the other group doing the other thing. Rosa, I believe was her name, was sacrificed by herself and rode on a back of a pick up truck to who knows where. Then bad news… dinner was originally at 7:30, pushed forward to 5:30, then 7:30 but we were to get more crisps and chocolate, then 8:30 when we’re having sandwiches and soup. A bit lot of whinging from the other essays (assays? I don’t really know how to spell it but it sounds like essays- it’s what they called us) and some sympathy from Ebony we were able to have left over crew menu (risotto, pasta, fruit salad, cake and custard). Heaven. After hours of just chocolate and crisps, real food was so good.
We must have eaten at around 7/7:30. At around 5/6? (Sam, Kate, correct me if I’m wrong) London essays came. Some were not even dressed as they should be. Anyway, they were told that our group were going to get food first and they can have any leftovers. Surprise, surprise, since there were a fair few of us, and the fact we were already eating leftover, there wasn’t a lot left after us. And they started whining about not having anything to eat (we were still promised sandwiches and soup later). Bearing in mind we were there since 1:30 and they had been there for an hour or so, I think it was only fair that they have to wait a little bit longer.
Somewhere in between waiting for dinner and actual dinner, some people were filming another scene in front of us.
Anyway, after dinner, as it was getting cold, we all sat in the coach. Then we were called out, told to form a line, shoulder-to-shoulder, and another lot were chosen for sacrifice and were driven off. We had to stay outside in the cold, even the sun didn’t do much anymore, until they told us we can go in the Londoners’ fancy coach. It really was fancy compared to our mini coach. But they did have a longer journey to and from than us so.
When it got dark, we were driven to the next set. The set looked so amazing, unfortunately we could only admire from inside the coach. Then hope! A chance to admire the set from outside and be on the set. If you were tapped on the shoulder you were to go outside and wait for instructions. I got tapped; yay! It was cold but I got tapped. Thirty seconds later ‘go back in the coach’. They had forgotten about the guys in the other coach, the ones they have already chosen for the scene. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to cover it. The scene looked so cool! I kinda wanted to cry. Being untapped was even worse than not being tapped. And obviously, the people they chose were not the best people for the job because they took forever to do the scene and had to re-shoot it again and again. Oh and did I mention Ellie Goulding was in this scene?! Yeah. She was. Like I said, disappointed doesn’t even cover it. And so we watched the coolness happen without us.
A little while later on, we were driven to the next set. This was the big scene where everyone was going to be in. It was starting to get later and later, 11pm/12am by now. Cold, very cold. Wrapped myself in my cardigan, and scarf for my legs. Once they got everyone there, we were allowed back in the coaches for warmth whilst they set up. Then filming time. Shorts were no longer a very good idea. Plenty of bouncing, jumping, star-jumping, dancing, hugging, huddling was done to keep warm. Filmed, stopped, moved, filmed, stopped, moved, filmed, stopped, insert Ellie Goulding. Insert Sean being moved about a foot away from Ellie. Insert me feeling slightly jealous and also not believing I was a few feet away from Ellie Goulding. Filmed, stopped, bye Ellie, moved, filmed, stopped, moved, filmed, stopped, sprint to the coach.
At around 1am, sandwiches and soup were served, as well as tea. Then the Londoners had to go a little while later. More whining from people about having to stay later and having to drive and blah blah blah. I would have felt sorry for them if they weren’t being divas. As the Cambridge bunch, we were asked if we mind staying another hour for the last scene. We said we’re fine with it. Got taken out of the coach to stand in the cold and watch Ellie. Little did we know, six or so people have already been chosen form our group. Told to go back in the coach until we were needed. *Spoiler alert: we were never needed*. The scene looked so good. The chosen ones got to film a little bit more and eventually we were wrapping up. About 45 minutes after the Londoners left, we get a call saying they are still in set and cannot find their way out. We dropped some people off back to their cars, they checked we all signed our forms and we were paid. Finally, at about 2 o’clock (actually I think it was more 2.15/2.30) in the morning, we were on our way home.
Talked to Kate then drifted in and out of sleep for the next half hour until we had to stop as our driver’s license only allows him to drive until half past 2. So we were at a stand still while we waited for his wife who was taking over from where we were. The moon looked amazing. I wish I could have taken a photo. Our driver arrived and we were on our way again. Drifted in and out of sleep again and woke up just as we were pulling up to where a bunch of us were getting dropped off. Panicked waking up, rushing to get my stuff and get off the coach and we’re crossing a very empty road. I had to get one of the guys to ring Kim’s phone as my was dead. As soon as I got in, Kim went straight to bed, bless her, she was very tired. I got ready for bed, went to sleep and didn’t wake up til midday.
Take me back, I actually want to go back. It really was a good day. Lovely weather as well.
Ta very much Kim :) So now that’s 2 music videos I’ve done. Looking forward to the next one…
Oliver Twist... I wish I could ceremoniously scribe as mysterious as a cat.
“Fool with a scalpel Manx is in a stable but critical condition. She is a thing of light, of airiness and joy; she took the brunt of the blast and is unconscious at present, they are lithely dashing many "tests" replied Oliver, "I want some more". She will pull through Bridge, go and behold Z, she’ll want your company. I know thou have been close at present.”
Who is frodo doyevsky? In the last analysis, even the best man is evil. Procrastination is the thief of time, collar him.
She took that magnanimous being to the bedroom, taking off his shirt as they walk. She kissed that dastardly vagabond fiercely... A good writer possesses not only his own spirit but also the spirit of his friends. Porn. I do not wish to make myself a laughing-stock before these idle listeners. THE END
