All in all (despite the quick wrap-up and generally lazy narration of their creator) everything seemed to be going okay for the Fryres.

Aspen: Peter? What are you- Ohmygod?! Are you serious?

Peter: Aspen...I know we’re young, but I have never been so sure of anything as I am of how much I love you. You bring light into every day of my life, and so, I would like to ask you if you will take this ring as a promise that, after our birthdays, you will marry me. What do you say?

Heidi reached the top of her career!

Locksley: Right then, do you want to tell me what’s going on?

Aspen: Mum started yelling at Peter for no reason and-

Locksley: No reason?

Aspen: Yes.

Locksley: Aspen, you’re engaged.

Aspen: So?! 

Locksley: Your mother didn’t even know you were seeing someone, let alone...can you understand why she might be concerned about that?

Aspen: I’m not a child.

Locksley: But you’re her baby. That’s no small thing. I think that maybe your mother is worried because you still seem very young to her.

Aspen: That doesn’t mean we’re making dumb decisions. We’re not going to run off into the forest and get married...this was a promise to each other, that’s all. I tried to explain that to her but she just exploded at us. 

Locksley: A promise?

Aspen: Yes. A promise that when we become adults, when it’s legal, we’ll get married. 

Locksley: I see...perhaps Heidi should have held off a little...I’ll go and talk to her, I think maybe I’m a calmer influence right now. Okay?

Aspen: Thanks...and thank you for listening. 

Locksley: I will always listen.

This concludes generation two, as all the generation requirements were fulfilled! Generation Three will begin next month...

After Locksley cleared the air, Heidi and Kieran relaxed their control over the kids, and made a conscious effort to get to know Peter. 

It didn’t magically become easy for them to understand their daughter’s engagement, but he was a polite, sweet boy and the two obviously loved each other. That was enough.
