Continue thy traditions | Lowell | Chapter 4 | ATTN: Hise
As night had already dawned on Flatline Syndicate - or at least that’s what the clocks are claming -, Lowell had carefully made his way to the greenhouse. The painter didn’t want to be seen by anyone right now, so he made a point to be as stealthy as humanly possible.
So far, it had actually worked - he was able to set up a memorial for both Hiraku and Shinobu without anyone interrupting or seeing him. Hiraku had gotten mostly dark-colored paper cranes and a black raven, while Shinobu had pastel-colored paper cranes and a lightblue mice. All wilting flowers had been collected and were currently in his arms - he remembered how Hiraku told him that he planted them there to pay his own respect to the deceased. Now that he was gone... he wanted to uphold what Hiraku started.
Peeking into the greenhouse, Lowell sighed in relief when he saw that nobody was here. Quickly closing the door behind him, the painter disposed of the old flowers first, before beginning to pick new ones out. All of them were white, of course - it only made sense, didn’t it?
After he collected enough of them, he started to make them into little bouquets; he’d never really done flower arrangement before, but there was a first time for everything, huh?
Lowell was already at his last bouquet, when he heard the door opening behind him, Whipping his head around, the painter didn’t even think and instead, simply acted - he nearly slammed his elbow against the table he was working on, as he was trying to obscure his deeds. A single, quick glance was enough to recognize the intruder as Hise; and with that, Lowell turned his head to the side and... didn’t say anything.
You know these scenes in cartoons where someone yells ‘Act natural!’ at the cast and everyone is just doing the most unnatural things one could fathom?
Yeah.
