About Philia
I have only read FSF LN vol 1 a very long time ago. So I'm basically anime-only now and have been trying not to read any info about FSF as to completely savor the anime (I just like it like that and I don't wanna be spoiled). So I was surprised to find out that
The Einzbern's homunculus Philia is a host for Ishtar.
I do remember reading that Enkidu hates Ishtar in FGO. I remember that one fact because in contrast, Gil and the rest of Babylon treat her more cordially, if not in an exasperated way.
FGO Ishtar's more malicious traits are explicitly toned down due to Rin's own good ones. That's why she comes out more likable, even for Gil. While in FSF, I don't know much of Philia's own personality (I vaguely recall she is rather angrily chatty in vol 1, as opposed to being a quiet doll-like pre-Kiritsugu Irisviel). So I don't know how much it actually affects Ishtar's character in FSF. Ishtar in FSF anime only mentions that her vessel barely has a soul in it.
But in any case, now that I see the FSF version, I completely understand why Enkidu can and never will get along with her lmao. Even putting all their history aside, I feel like how they see and treat humans and living beings are the opposite of each other. The difference in their thinking is just at the level where they won't see eye to eye.
On another topic, I also find it interesting that Ishtar's host went from Rin from Tohsaka family to Philia from Einzbern family. Well, they come from two of the three founding families of Holy Grail War. And they are very pretty. But I'd like to talk about another thing: The clothes.
Philia wears the frilly regal-looking dresses just like what Irisviel and Illyasviel wear. Aside from the all-white aspect, the style is carried over when Ishtar changes to another outfit. But what's funny for me is that while Rin doesn't wear something like that, the iconic outfit that Artoria wears in FSN is from her. Kirei gave it to Rin who dislikes it and then she gives it to Artoria. Accessories and overall vibe aside, both outfits are kinda similar, I think.
Side note 1: And it's only now I get why FGO Ishtar and Ereshkigal are drawn by Shizuki Morii lol.
Side note 2: The way FSF Ishtar styles her hair reminds me of Sakura in FSN.
