ya she doesn't. I'm just confused with Irene since Acnologia was king of dragons, she's queen. It could be at different times, but dragons were extinct for a long time so it couldn't be recent, and her being older then Acnologia seems a bit of a stretch.
Clearly dragons existed before Acnologia became dragon slayer and eventually turned into a dragon. Why couldn’t Irene exist before Acnologia became King of dragons if she was once the Queen of dragons?
I don’t really get why it feels okay for Irene to be the same generation as Acnologia, but if she was older it’s a stretch. I don’t really see what’s the big difference. She would be from the past anyway.
Honestly everyone’s confused about Irene’s identity right now. All the above are guesses only until next chapter come out. At this point I just want to point out how many fans ignore the possibility of Irene being the Queen on her own without being attached to a King.
That being said, I admit that to me the idea of Irene and Acnologiabeing a dragon couple in the past actually sounds less convincing (although I kinda ship them in the current time) but oh well, let’s wait to see if Mashima would disappoint me for the nth time.
