Letting out a sigh of frustration, Evie was ready to give up on getting the clasp of the necklace to work with her, until she saw a familiar face walk by her bedroom. “Jett!” She called out, hurrying out of her room and into the hallway to intercept him. “Sorry to ambush you, but do you think you could help me out? I can’t, for the life of me, get this clasp to work.” Holding the necklace out to him with a bashful smile, Evie grinned when he took it and motioned for her to turn around. “You’re a saint, I swear. Thank you, darlin’.” Turning her back to him, Evie moved her hair out of the way so he could put the necklace around her neck. “I’ve been trying to get this thing clasped for ten minutes.”
