@fitznandez; the stables
Though Alex was slowly but surely working more and more at his blacksmith station, he still made sure to leave a decent chunk of time to spend with Cici and the rest of the horses each day. There was never any shortage of work to do with the animals. Blacksmithing was something he did more out of necessity than anything, not that he minded the work. The stables were simply where his true passion was, and where it always would be. It also had been a good place for talking to people, as it turned out. Perhaps it was because he was more comfortable there than he was anywhere else in the small town, the one place he didn’t feel he was ‘intruding’ into since it was Cass’s domain.
Ally came in with her horse after her morning outside the perimeter; Alex looked towards her and gave her a friendly smile. She had managed to get him to open up when they had seen each other in the stables almost daily. While he wasn’t quite as close to her as he was Maya - though that was different for multiple reasons - he would say she was one of his closer friends in Redwood. “Hey, Ally. Everything go alright outside the walls?” Alex still wasn’t sure what the whole ordeal was with her job. Some of the specific tasks he understood, of course, but there didn’t seem to be any other rangers in town from what he could tell. Nor was he sure if she actually liked the job. Needless to say, even though they’d had more regular conversation than he’d had with the majority of the town, there was plenty more for them to learn about each other. That wasn’t a bad thing.
