People didn't tend to respond well to them, but he didn't know what else to do. Thus, the same old strategy. Thankfully he didn't know about that old statement on cycles and insanity.

"...That's how those stars are charted?" Ax found it difficult not to express how he felt about things. Most things that humankind (or thereabouts) did were perplexing beyond measure, and how they measured the cosmos with their unadvanced tools was only one of them. Ax and his own kind had been jumpstarted, so to speak. Certain things were as alien as one body to another. "I don't... maybe you can explain it to me again? Maybe I just don't understand?"

He would have felt much better with a complete view of the world. "How long have you been there?" He didn't have time for an interruption like this, his watch was going to go off any second!
