who: @sav-grey when: july 5th, roughly 2am. where: sav’s dorm.
After Marcello had drunkenly dialed Benny, she rushed to his rescue and helped her stumbling older brother back to his dorm. He managed to grovel and lament the entire walk to his dorm, his slurring nearly making it impossible for Benedetta to take him seriously. She understood enough to know that something had happened between him and Sav, but it was difficult to get Marcello to focus long enough to explain why. As they reached his bed, he slumped into the mattress, his legs still partially hanging off as Benedetta moved to push him further onto the bed. It wasn’t long before he passed out, leaving the redhead to ponder what could have occurred between them. After trying to unlock Marcello’s phone for some time, Benedetta gave up on the effort and crawled beside her brother and drifted to sleep.
Marcello woke up some time later, dazed and still drunk, a groan emitting as he sat up in bed. He reached over and felt Benedetta’s hair beside him, his other hand reaching to rub at his face. He checked his phone next, slowly remembering why he had woken up in his room instead of Sav’s. He stirred at the memory, his chest aching as he sat up, a swelling resentment bubbling within him for some moments. Marcello fought between the conflicting thoughts running through his head, hating her for toying with him yet regretting how he left her standing there. He saw in her face how he hurt her, but in that moment it hadn’t mattered. It felt good actually. He wanted to get back at her for humiliating him, but he couldn’t shake the feeling of dread knowing he had ended things like that. Sitting in the darkness, Marcello wallowed in his self pity for a lengthy amount of time before carefully moving himself off the bed. He stripped from his party clothes, grabbing a random hoodie and clumsily slipping on some joggers. Perhaps what he was planning was stupid, but there were still things he felt unsaid and questions he needed to ask her. What she had said to him before he walked away… It was deceitful of Sav to act like the victim when he had seemingly been manipulated by her the entire time. Falling for her stupid act was a mistake, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to walk away without making sure she knew he was in the right.
Reaching Sav’s dorm, Marcello glared at the door, his breath slightly heavy as he continued to fight with his confusion. He had no way of getting in and considering how he left things, Marcello knew Sav wouldn’t let him in. So, he dialed Kenzie again and again until she finally picked up, her groggy voice agreeing to come open the door with some annoyance. After receiving a smack on the head and telling Kenzie good night, Marcello approached Sav’s door. His hand lifted to turn the knob, only then realizing she had locked it. His gaze fell down to his hands, his fingers frustratingly jiggling the knob before he gave up with a huff. “What the fuck…” he grumbled, stepping away from the door as he thought of his next course of action. There was no way she was seriously that upset with him. He stepped forward again, sturdily knocking the door hopefully loud enough to wake her. After a few more moments, Marcello knocked again, his face growing tight with disquiet. “Sav, please. It’s Marcello,” he spoke low, his tone grim and defeated as he leaned his forehead against the door. The anger faded just as quickly as it had first come, the reality that she had intentionally shut him out causing him to feel a little hurt of all things. He sighed, lifting his fist to give the door another few knocks.
