it was weird at first, opening up to someone who wasn’t simon, sofia or heinrichs. god knows it took years for her to let them in and even then, it was never all the way. not that she’d completely let her guard down around cade either, but she found it almost too easy talking to him. it worried her at first, but by now, she figured she had enough dirt on him to do some real damage if he ever tried to screw her over. ‘twas how the brilliant mind of sabina marquez worked. hearing a knock on the door, she called out, “it’s open!” getting up from the couch, she moved towards the entry hall to greet the brit as he let himself into her apartment. “please tell me you got french wine, or at least from spain.”
