“Yeah? What do you do?” The guy across from him had a hard day at work and he was practically batting big blue eyes at him. Boring, not bad looking, O-, and totally unaware that he wasn’t paying attention to him at all. Lucian had planned on indulging him, stroking his ego a bit and buying him a couple of drinks before shoving him down the alley behind the bar. But his focus was on someone on the other end of the bar.
There, beneath the neon lights, under the sound of the too loud music, was a heart pumping A+ and just the smell of it made the back of his throat ache. Fuck the college guy desperately trying to pretend like he was an interesting, this new person seemed like a better time. His brunette hair perfectly disheveled, clothes dark, lips pouty, and his fucking cheekbones sharp. There was something almost ethereal about him and if he didn’t know better, he’d have thought him another vampire. It’s not like he went out on these excursions expecting a lot in terms of company, he was well aware he was a cat playing with mice before heading home satiated for the evening. But he wanted this one, or at least wanted him to want him.
“You’re boring me and you’re going to order me another whiskey and then you’re going to leave me alone.” His tone switched from syrupy to blunt as he looked directly to the human’s eyes. Stopping mid sentence, the bore gave a nod and with wide eyes, called to the bartender. The moment the new glass was in his hand, he was moving from one end of the bar to the other and seating himself besides the more interesting looking stranger. “Hope you don’t mind, motor mouth was convinced because he’d bought me a couple drinks that I wanted to hear about him failing the fuck out of law school.” He kept his tone casual but a smirk at the poor idiot’s expense tugged at the corner of his lips as he took a sip from his drink. @poeticsuccubushq
