free like a butterfly
Sundays was the day of the week to look forward to for most trainees. No training sessions, practice, or workshops to attend. He would have been one of the many trainees to completely check out on Saturday night and not resurface until Monday morning. Sundays for him were dictated by outside factors that he not control over like the rest of the week. He would either need to finish his assignments before the week began or be called to fill in at his father’s restaurant.
It was common for his day of freedom to be derailed, forcing him in different directions without much of a say from him. His father wasn’t a tyrant. He had seen a shift in attitude from Noeul this year, especially in terms of his maturity. It meant that he was far more benevolent when he saw the sign of weariness displayed on his son’s features whenever he visited the restaurant during the weekends. Today was one of those days for Noeul. He hadn’t even reached his work station before he was pushed out of the door.
Feeling the warmth of the sun on his face had re-energized him, but now he didn’t know what to do with too much freedom on his hands. He reaches for his phone inside the pocket of his jacket, unlocking it with ease and selecting the third conversation in his messaging app. He quickly taps out his message for ( @lgcxdawon ), barely looking at the screen while he heads back towards the station.
