“you will find the person you trust the most. the one you know will help you and support you in this endeavor and will be able to ensure the happiness of my child.”
the words rang back in his head and if felt like a fog was controlling him as he grabbed the young one and was on his way. he could think of only one person who he trusted in a time like this. the one person responsible enough to help him. haven.
you stupid, fool! you let her cast a spell on us!! how could you!? his inner demon screamed. how could you do this? this poor child has no need to be in the care of such a dull minded idiot as yourself?? do you hear me, fool?
beckham tried to tune out his demon but they were correct. he had no need to be in the care of a teague. much less beckham. who was arguably the least responsible of them all. for the oldest he cared less than he should and now he was entrusted with the safety of a child.. no, a baby. a winged and horned baby. odd but after the past events not the oddest thing he’d seen. he knew hades was a god.. but, it was still a bit strange.
beckham carried the basket as carefully as he could up the steps to haven’s apartment. trying to make his brain work to explain what was going on. she clearly didn’t want much to do with him after their conversation about reagan and the pregnancy. and now here he was on her doorstep baby in tow about to ask for help.
and he was scared to ask. but he knocked either way and hoped she’d wouldn’t close the door in his face. not that he didn’t deserve that. beckham knew he was in the wrong in this situation but it was still hard to admit. but yet the door opened.
his eyes connected with her’s and it was like a wave of relief. “i need your help, please.”
