THE SCHOOL YEAR was fast approaching, and john was actually sort of stoked for it, he’d always excelled in school and it was something he was good at so he was buzzing with excitement. thinking about heading out to grab some fresh air, maybe shop around for some back to school needs, he remembered his brother might’ve needed the same thing. after all, it’d been far too long since he’d seen michael, and that wasn’t something he wanted happening. when it came to his siblings, john was as dedicated as they came, so walking into the emerald building, he made his way to his brother’s apartment before knocking a few times, “special delivery!” the tall brunette called out with a smile, waiting for an answer.

“ it’s always a treat to see you, michael !  ”   blades of grass tickle her skin, poking past the fabric of her pale blue dress with swirling, dizzying patterns of pink and greens.  long, long limbs stretch out while she gazed up at the fragmented sky,  the  faux rays of the sun chilling her skin rather than warming her.   everything is a deception.  

“  have you come bearing gifts, michael?   i have a gift for you !  i was hoping for a fun exchange.  you give me something,  i  give you something.  ”  tipping her head back,   alice  gazed up  at the backwards  figure of  the once-archival assistant,  beckoning him  to join her on the grass.   even  avatars  of fear  deserve  a  little break from bestowing horrors upon the world and their chosen victims.  besides,  there was a lot of work ahead of them.

    IT HAD REALLY been far too long since he’d seen his little brother, and lately it’d been eating away at him. but as summer break rapidly approached, and his workload for school was basically weightless, john took the first chance he could to meet up with michael. standing outside the therapist’s office, he wasted some time by skimming through a book, leaning against the railing of the stairs before the door swung open to reveal the youngest darling, “well, fancy running into you here, huh?” he joked before flashing that dimpled grin up at michael, head falling to the side as he kept attention on him, “figured we could get some ice cream and watch a game tonight? what do you say?”
