        it all happened suddenly  .  one minute  ,  she’d been instructed to visit the nursery to take pictures for the upcoming newsletter  ,  ignoring the buzz around the resort that the weather was meant to be bad today  ,  ‘ newsflash - it’s bad everyday  ’  .  she spins on her heel to the other two adults in the room  ,  suddenly aware that they’re outnumbered by tiny humans  ,  and stuck like that  ,  ❝  HOLY FU —– ,  ❞  she bites her tongue hard enough to stop the profanity tainting the young minds around them as she subconciously consoles one that has burst into tears  ,  ❝  please tell me that we are not S - T - U - C - K here with these babies.  that snow is so thick  ,  . .  does wintergarden have a plan for things like this ?!  someone tell me there’s a manual around here for this predicament  .  ❞

she had prepared for something like this-- a weather emergency-- however, any time she spent preparing, thadd was always with her. now she was alone. well, not quite. two people who weren’t exactly equipped to handle children were with her, and while gracie was on the brink of a panic attack, she had to make sure everybody was safe, no matter how long. the sudden darkness had frightened the kids but above the mounting noise, she could hear the adults begin to panic. “hi, guys, hello,” her voice sounded more hard, unlike her usual soft spoken self, she was trying to conceal her own feelings of anxiety. she felt around in the dark, she was standing near the desk when the avalanche came,  and found a drawer, and dug through it for a moment before her hand felt around for the flash light she left in there for any times the power went out. 

clicking it on, she shone it at loren and at orla, both looking very shaken. “i need you guys to do this for me,” her voice was even, she was entering into a protective mode. “you guys need to calm them down, i have more flash lights and lamps in the closet. i need to grab this for the kids-- the main focus here is the children right now.” she cautiously stepped around the kids, pointing her flashlight ahead as not to shine it into anybody’s eyes. “i’m getting blankets and any napping mat, we just need to prepare for whatever,” she said, and then looked back to them. “do anything to distract them. sing. tell a story. play peekaboo. i can help you in a moment.” gracie hesitated, and her facade faltered. “please.”

After everything that happened with Aurelia, Cam was visibly messed up everywhere he went. Not in the sense that he was on anything or that he was drunk- he was just sad. Still, he was skipping therapy and staying holed up in his room most days. Today, though, was a day he was forced to leave his suite to actually go get a decent meal instead of room service. “You know what, sometimes a guy just needs some pancakes.”

gracie had came in to get some food before work, and noticed this guy looking rather sad. she frowned, and nodded. “pancakes are good medicine,” she responded. “are you alright?”

“anna’s cats would probably eat my cat,” she joked, sighing nervously. she tapped her fingers on her leg, and nodded. “yeah. i think flyers might be a good idea. just in case.”

gracie glanced at the card for a moment, and then gave him a gracious smile. “thank you, uh, dr. jenkins,” she replied, dropping the card into her pocket. “i really do appreciate this.”

“And ‘ere I thought that cats were just lazy and slept all day.” Maggie replied with a shrug and a giggle. “Although, I’d never know. I’m more of a dog person to be ‘onest with you.” The actress added, before giving another laugh. “Ooer, so you’re fearin’ for the other animals? Does your cat also happen to be a Panther or somethin’?”

“i love animals, it’s just my apartment is too small for a dog and i don’t have the time i would want to devote to caring for one,” she said, and then opened her mouth to reply-- but nothing came out. it took another moment until she went, “oh, no. no. i mean a coyote or something.”
