no one could really tie charlie down that sweltering hot summer .. she was on the move on an almost daily basis.. you see her list of to-do’s dragged longer than she anticipated, a notes app filled with ideas had been completed ..

june was good.. it welcomed growth and change. of course some stability still lies in benji hawke .. his time is a bit harder to catch these days .. but she relishes in the time they have together and the discoveries they make in centralia. most mornings started with a documentary .. channeling the aesthetic of urban exploration fuels fascinating adventures the two cannot shut up about .. they contemplate starting a blog about it... but charlie knows them both all too well .. nothing would get done.. so they admire the way the earth consumes decaying planks and talk about life in california..

...speaking of... her stint in the sunshine state has seemingly dwindled in the media.. while the press wasn’t entirely bad with her fans.. the judgement across several gossip blogs had quieted and she finally found her way back to music by july, back to the stage. her popularity has downgraded .. she imagines most left with the latest & greatest trends but she has made it a priority to attend open mic nights and getting her name out there again .. she maintains her job at the coffee shop and has picked up another part time job at the movie theatre.. she needs the extra income..

august slipped away ... like a bottle of wine ... and charlie spent it going on dates.. nothing that ever ended in anyone coming home to her bed.. truth be told. and maybe that was because she still had her eyes on a certain someone.. siobhan scott hadn’t stop frequenting her coffee shop, see she’d gotten better at holding her composure around them.. the company was good.. they were a change of pace.. and charlie didn’t spill coffee on her hands anymore when shiv leaned across the counter to ask what her plans were ...

charlie’s precious golden toby has grown accustomed to life outside the shelter, he’s trained off leash now and often takes strolls downtown with her or explores the old train cars .. wherever you see her, he’s close behind..

eden had reserved the study room almost a week in advance, before she'd even asked siobhan to meet her to help write the term paper. she'd been vague in her texts, resorting to a shared google doc where eden typed out communication in the shape of a research paper when her parents had requested she join them in the den. this was nothing new. the lengths eden went to to remain cool to a watchful eye. feel however you want so long you're wearing an unaffected mask. she'd arrived early, as usual, by almost half an hour and had already started scribbling think maps on the white board wall. words like point of view and tone shifts were circled and attached to parrots, newspaper, rivers. finally, in an open corner, she scrawled the words "may 19, evening" with a small army of question marks. as the door finally opened, she pressed play on the playlist she'd curated for the hangout. if being raised in a domestic dollhouse taught eden anything, it was that no detail was worth overlooking. not even when you had three different conversations going on with yourself at once in your head. siobhan silenced a majority of them, just walking into the room. hm. in an open notebook she scribbled "makes quiet" and a few loud ellipses. "thanks for coming out here. i have, like, so much to go over with you." and she pushed a canteen of coffee out in offering.
