The Ace of Spades Casino was everything that was wrong with people in America. Maybe not the exact business itself but rather gambling in general. The idea that pouring out your paycheck and savings into a couple games in hopes that you might win enough cash to change your life was pure stupidity in Eris’ eyes. The odds were never the person’s favor, and half the time what you do end up earning is not nearly enough to cover what you put in. So she truly didn’t understand why people ended up coming back for more when the only people profiting were the wonders. The same could be said about her own under the table job, and addiction being at the core of both. Sure gambling and doing drugs were different in their respective rights but both were rooted in an addiction to either escaping reality or winning a better reality.
While it disgusted her to even be close to the place she still climbed out of her Jeep matching it’s all black exterior with her own all black outfit to start heading for the doors. Managing deals was something that was far beneath her now but when it came to certain members of the Devils, it was a wiser choice for her to step in. There was a peace accord to be maintained and while it would be funny to watch one of the lower members start messing with the bikers, it wouldn’t be politically in their favor to do so. Which is how she found herself striding in past the scrawny security guard at the front and weaving through the tables towards the back part of the floor. There was a staircase in the very back that lead to some of the offices where the more important people would meet, and whoever else warranted a room up at the top of the casino.
Taking the stairs she headed down the hallway and figured the door where someone was standing outside of it was the one she needed. Having security was a smart move though she doubted it was just for her. The MC probably had plenty of meetings going down and she had to be but a blimp on their radar, for now. Getting closer she frowned because the person who was outside of that door was someone she had quite literally sworn she’d never see again. Partially because if she’d spent the last ten years not seeing him she was hoping for at least ten more. “You.” She breathed, stopping right in front of the man who had visited her place of work not a couple days ago. The one who was very adamant in not wanting to be there. “Stray was it?”
