CLOSED STARTER for @tonibeltranWHERE: re-chording, saturday, aug 31, in the early afternoon
Dahlia had texted Toni yesterday letting him know what time she could come over to jam at Re-Chording. It still felt strange and absurd to her that she had Toni Beltran’s number. She was getting better at not freaking out about it if she thought about it too much, but it was still so surreal. Dahlia pushed open the door to the store, the chime of the bell overhead announcing her arrival. Re-Chording had always been a sanctuary for her, a place where she could breath easier and the outside world was drowned out by the gentle hum of guitars hanging on the walls. Today was different, though. Today, she crossing the threshold with her Epiphone slung over her shoulder to jam with one of her inspirations. No biggie. The fact that Toni wanted to jam out with her was both insane and exciting. It was no secret that Dahlia loved to nerd out about music – she could have in-depth conversations with anyone who was willing to listen – but Toni was different. He understood music on a deep, almost spiritual level. There were so many questions swirling in her head about his music and lyrics, but she wasn’t sure he’d want to be bothered with them. As she walked through the store, she spotted Toni sitting near the back on a stool with a guitar in his hands. He wasn’t playing, but just the sight of him there tugged at something in Dahlia’s chest she couldn’t quite name. She knew his story–what Amethyst fan didn’t?–but she knew better than to bring it up. His relationship with the guitar might have changed, but his love for music had remained, and she admired that about him. “Hey Toni,” Dahlia called out as she approached, keeping her tone cheerful but relaxed. Inside, she was buzzing with anticipation and excitement for their session. “Ready to jam?”
