Jocelyn's lips curled into a smirk as Wyatt mentioned the barn excuse, her eyes narrowing playfully across the table. "The ol' barn emergency? Classic," she said, resting her chin on her hand as she leaned in just slightly. "Let me guess. Your prized goat was going into labor? Or maybe a chicken mutiny?" She let the teasing hang in the air for a second before her expression softened, the glint of sarcasm in her eyes giving way to something more sincere. "Honestly, I don't do this stuff, either. Blind dates, being set up, letting my friends meddle in my love life. But... I don't know. You make it feel kind of easy." That last part slipped out more honest than she'd intended, and she quickly hid behind a sip of her drink, shrugging one shoulder with faux nonchalance. "Don't let it go to your head or anything, though. I still might make a run for it if dessert gets weird." But the smile that tugged at her lips was telling—Jocelyn didn't want to run. Not tonight, anyway.
