“Hey --” It looked like Gia had spotted Michael before he’d even noticed her entering the bar, given that she was already making her way over when he glanced in her direction. “I was starting to think that you’d bailed on me,” he joked lightly, no real annoyance to his tone. He had actually been sitting at the same table for... a while (long enough to already be sipping at his third rum and coke), but Michael hadn’t necessarily put much thought into the fact that Gia was running late. If she’d shown up late to the house showing when it was her friend relying on her, then why would she be punctual for drinks with him? There’d also been the slim chance that Gia wouldn’t show at all, but Michael had doubted it. If she’d really just been shooting the shit and talking to pass the time during the open house, then he figured she wouldn’t have texted him at all -- let alone with a Greenwich bar already in mind for the same night. “You’ll have to catch up with me,” he continued to tease, gaze lingering on Gia as he lifted his glass. Without the hat and oversized sunglasses, she really did look a lot more in her element. “Unless... you’ve already had a busy afternoon with your day drinking plans.”
