“So, who is this guy?” Blesse’s aunt Jade asked her in a hushed tone before Isaac arrived. They were there fifteen minutes before the time they said they would meet, because Jade was always early to appointments. Jade was curious as to why this was so important to her niece.
“His name is Isaac Kristhorn. And I’ve been seeing him for the past year-- kinda...” Blesse began to explain. “He wants to meet you. But like-- don’t tell mom or dad yet because I’m still finding the right moment for that.” Blesse wrinkled her nose, frowning a bit.
“Ahh-- there goes all my hopes and dreams of you ending up with Benjamin,” Jade joked with a chuckle and Blesse attempted to laugh with her aunt. “I’m sure he’s a great guy, Cee. You wouldn’t have stuck it out for a year if he wasn’t. I’m excited to meet him.”
Blesse wrapped her arm around her aunt, giving her a tight squeeze. She really did love her Aunt Jade. She was the smartest, strongest woman she knew and she had so much respect for her. She’d given Blesse so much trust and freedom when she got to New York. Blesse basically owed who she was to this woman. “I’m excited for two of my favorite people to meet each other.”
