You send the wrigglers off to go catch some critters -- though the vegetation is scarce, the desert-dwelling hopbeasts and slitherscales are used to the shortage, and their numbers are still rather large. As much as you would love to spoil your charges absolutely rotten, you’d rather not actually do that. Even if they missed you - even though they did - you can’t let them cling as hard as they have been. You can’t let them turn out as desperate for attention as you are if you want them to be even partially equipped to deal with world outside of the garden walls.
You haven’t seen Sollux in, oh, several perigees. It’s been driving you up the walls; you had so many plans involving him before you left for your journey and now you have no idea where he is in terms of health and emotional state. You’ve missed him.
You fluff your hair up with your brush a little bit, though you’re as clean as clean can be and smell of vanilla and mint. It’s really, really good to be home. A spring in your step, you work the slightly dusty transportalizer and get yourself over to his place of residence; its been too long for you to recall the coordinates by memory.
Immediately, your head feels a little full and painful: you haven’t experienced the entrance pains in a long time, since hotels aren’t really homes and don’t give you the same migraines when you don’t have verbal permission.
“Sollux? I’m here, can I come in?”

Over the sweeps of dwelling in the dream bubbles, focusing on places seemed to cut down travel time considerably -- he theorized that perhaps that focus directed at a person would get him where he wanted to go.
When he blinked, the crash of waves against a hard surface broke him out of his theories. Beating his wings nice and hard, he gets himself oriented and looks around. The palace seemed unsupported by anything else, disappearing right into the waves -- it was lavish enough that he wouldn't be surprised if that was where Vattia was.
He flew around the side of the palace slowly until he saw a light in a window, alighting on the corresponding balcony and clearing his throat.
"Vattia...?"
