Erlu - For Her, She Stayed

She would be a liar is she said she hadn’t been worried. Lucy had been pale and shivering all night, all the blankets in their small studio apartment no help to the blonde. Erza pet her hair back, as her blue tinted lips breathed out a small whimper.

“Lucky Lucy…” Erza was so glad she had come home from her shift early. Her girlfriend’s cravings hard to handle nowadays as her sober chips slowly accumulated on their bedside table. An assortment of of pink and white pills thrown across the scratched and worn wood.

Her brown eyes glazed over as she rushed into the apartment, her frame shaking as she scratched at her hand. Erza was angry, knowing exactly where she had gotten the money from. But was pulled tender the moment, Lucy called out her name -pleading for help.

As a part of their routine, she quickly disposed of those small plastic capsules. Led Lucy to the bathroom as she dry heaved and then fed her. Returning to their small and cluttered bathroom to give her a shower.

Now Erza pulled Lucy into her, curling her around the girl’s thin and boney frame. Things hadn’t always been this way but she was willing to tread through the depths of hell to get the Lucy she knew back.

She pulled a thin lock of yellow hair behind her ear, the two all warm and dry now. She had bundled Lucy up like a seven layered burrito, trying to keep her shivering down. The moonlight framing her face, picking up on the soft curve of her cheeks and had illuminated her crown of curled golden locks. Erza smiled fondly as the Lucy she knew was slowly coming through, her small snoring only attesting to all the restless nights they shared.

So for that night and many after, she had held the blond in her arms. Petting her hair down as she trembled and broke a cold sweat. Dabbed the tears from her eyes and let her girlfriend lash out at her. It would all be worth it in the end, as long as she stayed.

but that reminds me now: she's not here, and i'd rather see her lovely step, her sparkling glance and her face than gaze on all the troops in lydia in their chariots and glittering armor.

What’s a Chocolate Box Exchange?

Participants sign-up to create a “bite sized” gift or gifts for others! It is a cute way to trade gifts and feel goods. This is an open exchange of drabbles/sketches and anyone can participate regardless of skill level :)

Title: Listen to your heart fandom: Fairy Tail Pairing: Levy x Juvia Notes: Title is the song I listened to while writing this. lmao

Levy loved the rain, the sound and the feel of it on her skin. She could stand outside or by a window and just watch it for hours, she just loved the rain. Sometimes she would go on walks with her umbrella listening to the pitter patters on it she couldn't help but smile to herself as she would walk in the part or down the street, which usually would almost be empty it was times like that she would like to imagine she was a character in one of the books she loved, that something interesting would happen soon she loved that kind of anticipation feeling.  

Though of course it never happens in the way you expect it too.  

Levy was coming home from her job at the bookstore one evening and it had started to sprinkle lightly but she only smiled to herself holding her hand out, palm up, to feel the droplets. It was in that second that she saw the other woman sitting on the bench with her face in her hands, her blue hair curled inward, it was the first time Levy saw such a hairdo. She liked it.  

She wasn't sure what made her start walking over to the other woman as the rain grew heavier suddenly, soaking her through but she didn't stop until she reached her. Concern etched onto her face as she leaned over slightly, her small hand on the women's back. It was then she realized that the woman was sobbing.  

"Are you okay?" she said a bit loudly as she touched her back again, "It's starting to rain hard would you like to go somewhere dry?" she smiled as the woman looked up to her and nodded slightly as Levy then helped her up. She was taller than Levy, not by much but as the woman held onto Levy's arm leaning on her slightly, she couldn't help but feel her cheeks warm. How strange.  

When they finally made it to a cafe Levy helped her sit and then went and asked for some towels so they could dry off. When she returned the woman was just staring blanketly out the window but Levy touched her shoulder as she handed her the rather small towel.  

"My name is Levy Mcgarden." she stated as the woman looked at her, her face red and her eye liner dripping down her cheeks. 

"Juvia." she replied her voice low and cracking, "Juvia Lockser." she swallowed. "Thank you, Levy." and Levy only smiled as she took the seat next to Juvia, and she reached out her hand placing it over Juvia's not noticing the surprised look the other woman gave her.  

"I won't ask you anything." Levy said her eyes soft, "We can just sit hear together and listen to the rain and drink coffee or whatever." she laughed it was like some weird blind date or something she would see in a romance novel. But she pushed those thoughts away as she concentrated on the obviously heartbroken woman next to her, that's what mattered not what she found amusing. 

Juvia finally smiled at her which Levy was sure her heart made a leap in her chest, "Thank you, Levy-chan." and her heart made another leap then.   And they sat there together, neither really saying a word as they people watched and drank their tea and coffee.  An hour almost passed when the rain ended and the sun started to peak out. It was then Juvia stood up and spoke, "I should be going now. Thank you Levy-chan." and Levy nodded as she rubbed her hands together and then suddenly, she grabbed the womans sleeve to stop her from leaving but to her surprise Juvia was just standing there staring at her which caused Levy's cheeks to work.  

"Would you like---" they stopped as they spoke at the same time and then laughed, Levy gave her a warm smile. "Do you want to exchange emails?" she held out her small phone that surprisingly had many charms on it while Juvia who had hers out was just one charm of a Teru Teru Bozo on it. Levy found it very cute and after a few minutes they finally said their goodbyes and Levy watched her leave before finally paying for the drinks and getting ready herself before looking down at her phone and smiling at the message she had just received.   

Levy loved the rain, you never knew what you would find.

May I Have This Dance?

The vows had been said, the newly weds toasted, and even the cake had been cut. Natsu and Gray danced their first dance as husbands while everyone watched, and Lucy smirked. The music turned from sentimental to energetic and everyone flooded onto the dance floor. No one was really dancing with anyone specifically in the frantic mob of bodies, though Lucy was never far from Erza for long. The music suddenly dropped to a more sedate tempo and everyone grabbed a partner. Lucy was staring at a flushed Erza. She was red in her cheeks but was it from the dancing or the fact that this was the love song of the decade playing and they were the only two without partners?

“Do-do you wanna dance?” Lucy stammered out. Hurriedly she added, “With me?”

Erza’s smile was a blessing.

“I’d love to dance with you, Lucy,” she said as she stepped forward.

Lucy raised her hands but then grew flustered. Where am I supposed to put my hands?

Erza seemed just as unsure.

“Do you want me to-?” Erza put her arms around Lucy’s neck but then quickly disengaged, a small frown on her face.

They were at a standoff and the song was halfway finished. Lucy didn’t know if she was going to laugh or cry. She’d hoped for a moment like this with Erza and now the opportunity was slipping through her fingers.

Erza gave Lucy a soft smile while grabbing both of the blonde woman’s hands. Giving her a reassuring squeeze, she brought Lucy’s hands up to her shoulders where Lucy immediately interlaced her fingers behind Erza’s neck, while Erza softly glided her hands to Lucy’s waist.

“Will this be acceptable for you Lucy?” Erza asked as she pulled Lucy closer.

Lucy’s face flamed as red as Erza’s hair, so she simply nodded as she closed the gap between them.

“Is- is this okay Erza?”

Erza gently rested her head atop Lucy’s as they began to sway.

“You know Lucy,” Erza said softly a few moments later, “I was hoping we would get to dance to this song.”

“Really?”

Erza pressed a soft, quick kiss to the top of Lucy’s head.

“Yes,” she replied.

Lucy flushed pink, with elation. She grinned up at Erza.

“I was hoping we’d get to dance together, too,” she admitted. “There’s only one thing that could make it more perfect.”

“And what would that be?” Erza asked. A hint of trepidation coloring her words.

Lucy stood on tiptoe so she could whisper in Erza’s ear, “A kiss?”

Erza looked deeply into Lucy’s eyes. She leaned down and met Lucy as she stretched up.

The kiss was just what Lucy had hoped it would be soft, but not hesitant, warm and sweet. It lasted a brief moment, but the promise of more kisses to come was certain.
