Kurt chuckled softly. “I know. The irony of it wasn’t lost on me either, sir.” He looked at him, the option he gave catching him completely off guard. “What- Really, sir? Oh my gosh, that would be awesome! I honestly don’t see how that wouldn’t work, but of course, one has to try it first, right? His face lit up when he processed the idea in his head, quite frankly more perfect than anything he could have thought of. “Oh- um..” He shrugged. “I suppose it did make me a bit nervous because I really, really wouldn’t want to jeopardize my job here, sir. I really like it.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I know you told that much, sir. I didn’t mean not to trust you on that. I apologize…”
Quirking an eyebrow over the thought that having a book club meeting in a bookshop they both worked at hadn’t occurred to either Matt or Kurt seemed a little odd, he tsked, shaking his head. “As long as, if I’m not working, one or the other of you hops up to help anyone check out if anyone tries to buy anything while the club is happening, I don’t see why it would be an issue... and obviously if I was working, it’s definitely a non-issue.” Watching Kurt’s face closely as he explained himself, he nodded once. “I accept your apology. Just do try to remember that next time, that as long as you ask me respectfully and with a period of time long enough for me to make an adjustment, I’ll likely have no issues.” @switchhummel
