"There is nothing I love more than seeing you happy."
[ x ] ”There is nothing I love more than seeing you happy.”
Reuniting with a long friend was something that Naeun never expects in her life. Because throughout the years, the female never had any solid friendships with other people. Constantly feeling the urge to isolate herself amongst others or keep a fair distance between them because honestly, it's tough to get close to another. Because eventually they'll slip away with time and regardless of people saying constantly that you'll never be alone. That's all she ever felt most of the time. It's nothing that Naeun complained about though.
Standing side by side with another, her arm linked with the other female's. Continuously walking towards some unknown direction, which was typical because Naeun never had a proper area she wanted to go with another. Wanting to venture out with her companion, walk and walk until exhaustion takes a hold of them. They had a conversation, somewhere along the lines of telling Jihyun what's been currently going on with her lifestyle. Nothing out of the ordinary or the things she was informing the older woman that is.
"There is nothing I love more than seeing you happy."
Perhaps her thoughts were spoken rather loudly, audible enough to catch the artist's attention. Snapping her attention towards Jihyun once those words past her lips, disbelief and suddenly she wonders what caused the other to say such a thing. Sucking in a breath momentarily to compose herself, eyes forming into little crescents. The corner of her lips curve into a sincere smile once again. Supposed, her life wasn't the easiest thing to endure. The older woman knows that by the way she heard her friend's story.
Happiness isn't the easiest thing to obtain, everything another desires takes effort into grabbing a hold onto. And her life she's gradually getting there, everyone was. No need to rush, that's what Naeun reminded herself. Life is content and she's grateful for all that she has currently from others including the friend who was still standing side by side with her. Standing the way she's always been, nurturing and taking care of the petite female -- a mother figure she couldn't remember having.
"Well.. I thank you for that piece of happiness." Naeun says, nudging the other in the side. Certainly she had plenty of chances of saying thank you, perhaps she already said it in the past. Though no matter what, those words aren't enough for the young girl to show the sincerity she has always felt; truly thankful for Jihyun's time during their first couple of encounters. Because if it wasn't for her especially, she wouldn't exactly be here as well.
❝ Noona, I’ve managed booked a reservation for 2 at the restaurant you’ve told me you’ve been dying to try for lunch. So I’ll see you there at 12PM sharp. Don’t be late. ^^v — Dongsaeng ❞
Yunho groaned audibly at her statement, head tipping back to contact the stark white wall behind the stretcher with a dull thud. His normally composed and amenable attitude had faded as soon as he had seen the nurse’s reaction to the stripping off of his sock and boot and now he sat with arms crossed and bottom lip cornered between his teeth as the doctor both inspected his ankle and chastised his flawed thinking.
"It seemed like, it was going to be okay…" he began to protest, words fading into the air as he brought his chin back down to reality and stared at the discolored and swollen pattern that graced his foot and calf. He'd seen plenty of grisly injuries in the line of duty, but something about looking at his own broken body made him uneasy.
When he had first felt the twinge of pain after the jump, he’d shoved it aside under the pretense that it would surely fade. He had simply landed wrong and the jolt that shot up his leg would give way to normalcy over the course of the day. For a while, he had been correct, but just hours after leaving the sanctuary of the cold water, a deep ache had settled in and before he could even register that something was actually wrong, his lower extremity had swollen uncomfortably against the inside of his shoe.
Unfortunately for Yunho, being stubborn was no cure for a sprain. Neither was double-lacing his combat boots and pushing through the pain for a second day of double-sessions. And now, apparently his grand plan of sucking it up long enough to see a civilian doctor to avoid the aggravation of missing the next mission (a fate he most certainly would suffer at the hands of the SSAT physician) had done nothing but backfire in his face.
And of course, like any good doctor, upon hearing the story, she told it to him straight.
"Alright, it was a bad plan," he admitted, balling his fists as she turned the afflicted area in her gloved hands. "But we can wrap it, right? Enough to get me through the next mission?"
I wish I could have quit you. I wish I never missed you and told you that I loved you every time I fucked you. The future that we both drew and all the shit we’ve been through — obsessed with the thought of you; the pain just grew and grew!
How could you do this to me? Look at what I made for you. It never was enough and this world is what I gave you. I used to be love struck, now I’m just fucked up. Pull up my sleeves and see the patterns of my cuts.
Seems like all we had is over now. You’ve gone and left to rest, but I just want to let you know that I’ve been abused, I feel so used because of you. I’m sorry — but my fears are over now, I can finally leave you behind with my head down.
Look, your dad's kind of an idiot, let's just get that out of the way. But uh .. listen to your mother and stay in school. And I'm serious when I say stay in school, grades are important at your age.
