Ok so most of the characters are kids
They’re teens, the same age as Izuku and friends
They don’t go to UA though, they go to a made up school
Let’s call it HA for Hero Association
Saitama has a quirk, he just doesn’t know it.
He has a strength quirk
His quirk can’t be used until he is strong enough, so as a kid, he seemed like he didn’t have a quirk.
But in a world with Heroes, he always wanted to be a hero.
So to make up for his ‘lack of quirk’, he works out, a lot.
He’s an orphan from a villain attack, so he doesn’t have a lot of money.
A lot of his work outs are in the heat or the cold
By the time he gets to high school, he’s strong, but not quirk strong
But he wants in a hero school
He thinks there is no way he’ll get into UA
So he applies to the slightly lesser school, HA
The first part of the exam is written
He doesn’t do great
The second part is physical, without quirks
He does a lot better, enough to make up the written test
He goes home, and tries not to panic
A week later, him and a handful of other kids get called back
They are the new class for the year, but the teacher wanted to give them one last test on their quirks
Saitama is panicking on the inside
He put down a strength quirk, because he didn’t think the school would accept a quirkless student
But how can he prove he has a quirk when he doesn’t have one???
A couple of people go before him
They have to fight the teacher. The teacher doesn’t expect them to win but wants to see how they do
There’s a kid who can control metal that has electricity running through it
This is Genos
He throws out some slightly electrified metal from his pocket and pelts them hard at the teacher
The teacher seats them all away but nods, dismissing him
There’s a girl with a psychic quirk and just pushes the teacher againast the wall bored
It’s Fubaki
There’s a boy who has super speed and just zips around the teacher hitting him
It’s Sonic, who is here to show up his brother Flash
Flash is a year above, with Fubaki’s sister.
Then it’s Saitama’s turn
He takes a deep breath and goes up to the ring
He fights the teacher for a bit, trying to pack some power behind the punches to hide that he’s quirkless
The teacher can tell he isn’t using a quirk and tells him to step up
Saitama panics
He has to do something
He puts on his power in one punch
And punches the teacher to the wall
He’s shocked
How did he do that???
He looks around confused as the teacher is still down
And sees Fubaki staring at him
He realizes it was Fubaki who put power behind his punch
But he doesn’t know why
That’s when the teacher gets up and laughs it off
Says that they need to teach him to control that quirk of his
Saitama weakly laughs and nods, going back to his spot
At the same time, Genos is looking a the boy, who lasted that long against the teacher without a quirk
Who has trained himself to fight without his quirk
Genos is still bitter about a villain attack that happened hen he was 8
The villain killed his family
He wants to be a hero simply to get back at that villain
That night, as Saitama walks home, he’s amazed he somehow got into a good hero school
And then Genos jumps out of no where and declares that he wants Saitama as his fighting teacher
Saitama is like WTF did you come from????
And then Genos starts to tell Saitama his backstory
And Saitama gets lost in the first few sentences
So he shuts him up and snaps at him to keep it “20 words or less!”
Either way, Saitama says no and walks past him
The next day, Genos shows up at Saitama’s house
Saitama is like, WTF
Genos sees where he lives and offers to pay part of the rent if he can stay here and get lessons
Saitama is like, “Well... we can train together and I get money to help out with the apartment... sure ok.”
Genos is excited and says they both will get stronger
And the Saitama can learn to control his quirk! Genos says happily
And Saitama is like, oh yes. The quit. My quirk. The quirk I don’t have. The quirk I’m lying to the kid about. That quirk.
And outloud he’s just like, “ok.”
