modern day. Bilbo is hired to teach Fili piano. Thorin passes by and is captivated by the music and hangs around so when Fili is done he goes and talks to him and is kind of shy but mentions he plays the harp and sings (WHICH CANONICALLY HE DOES) and bilbo gets excited because he's never found a harp player and so after Fili's lessons he hangs around and plays music with him and shares the poems he makes and Thorin sings them as they play together and the play sessions get longer and longer

Okay what if hobbit eyes change colour to reflect their moods

when they're content they're chocolate brown when they're scared they're gold when they're angry they're dark brown when they're happy they're blue when they're lovey they're a really light blue almost purple

Bilbo is off somewhere so the dwarves are talking and someone mentions bilbo's eyes and they say 'his brown eyes' and bofur is all  'no his eyes are blue what' and dwalin huffs 'no they're gold' and thorin's scoffs and says 'no they're purple'

I love how Bilbo, at the end of An Unexpected Journey, says that he thinks the worst it behind them, like yes completely safe not like you have to face a fucking dragon or anything the mere mention of which caused you to faint so yeah the worst is behind you yep
