So probably the most dad-like thing about my mom is that she loves Poco, who are like The Eagles but better. It is dad music, and she instilled in me a deep love for it at an early age.

I have a lot of feelings about dads and how the two I have had in my life both were pretty shitty for lots of reasons. Family is complicated. Dads are complicated. Even when they were in my life, my mom has always really filled the role of two parents. She’s amazing and I feel really lucky that she’s my mom.
