Thoughts on BtVS
-Angel is trash. Angelus was the worst of the worst vampire and the whole soul restoration thing was literally a curse. Even as Angel, he viewed it as a curse. He did not want that soul. He didn't want to deal with the atrocities he inflicted on others. It wasn't his choice to have the soul or to change his behavior; it was forced on him. Whether Angel is a good person or not is almost irrelevant. He didn't choose it.
-Spike is problematic. Spike was an "evil" vampire, but his evilness came from wanting approval, acceptance, and love (primarily from Drusilla). Without a soul, he was still able to feel and comprehend love, though a very possessive love - see his attempted rape of Buffy b/c "I love you and therefore have a right to you." Reprehensible. Then he decides, he makes the choice, to get his soul restored, so that he can be the kind of man Buffy wants, one that is worthy of her, knowing that it was going to hurt him.
-End of the series, Spike sacrifices himself to save Buffy & co. and the world. Anya dies in the fight against evil. I guess, once a demon always a demon? Regardless of character growth, reformation arc, actively trying to redeem themselves? Fab.
-Anya is amazing and fuck anyone who says otherwise.
-I don't like Riley. Riley doesn't ever consider that his role in the government as a soldiers tasked with capturing "subterrestrials" might be a lil fucked up until he sees someone he knows personally in captivity. Only then does he go, "hey maybe not all these 'monsters' are evil, maybe this should be a case-by-case basis..." Little too late my guy.
-Drusilla is such a fun character and I wish she'd been around more. She's very pleasantly evil.
-Tara's family is trash. I love Anya. Willow going off and straight up murdering someone for killing Tara is eye-for-an-eye justice and I can't actually fault her for it. If I had Willow's power and knew the police/justice system wouldn't be able to put away my lover's murderer, I'd take it into my own hands to...probably a good reason I don't have that kind of power.
-Xander and Willow cheating on Oz and Cordy was a shitty thing to happen, but also understandable under the circumstances - seeking comfort in an event they didn't know they were going to survive. I do like that Oz and Cordy were able to express their hurt and grow past it on their own terms, but I also wish there had been more discussion on-screen about what was going on with their SOs.
-Xander being anti-monster/anti-vampire or whatever from the get go is also a totally understandable position for a normal teenage human who has just been dumped into the world of the supernatural to take. But. He personally knows multiple vampires and demons (or ex demons) and still holds that prejudice. Anya even calls him out on his attitude while they're dating. He gets to live? Anya gets killed off?
-Faith needs a hug. Lots of hugs. I just wanna wrap her up in fluffy warm blankets and give her stuffed animals to cuddle. This poor child.
Admit, everyone is slightly happy that Riley died
Update: We’ve created a monster
Wait primordial dream Riley's plan for a government takeover of the world hinges on smart appliances?

FUCKING ADAM OH MY GOD
REMEMBER HOW CURSED SEASON 4 WAS, LIKE, IN GENERAL
What just happened
Riley got arrested trying to sell drugs to an undercover cop. I knew I KNEW something was up and I didn't say anything. I feel like such a piece of shit girlfriend. I feels weird not having him home right now. I haven't slept alone since we started dating 6 months ago... I miss him so fucking much. I'm trying not to freak out about what's going to happen in the future or how this is going to affect EVERYTHING. I love him and I just want him home... :( everything's gone and I'm just lost without him... why did I let him go?? Why did this have to happen?? Why does everything need to go to complete and utter shit when everything just starts going good for us...? I just want to hold him and tell him everything is going to be okay... we can work through this. It's going to be so damn hard but there's a reason we're such a good team. I feel guilty being a lonely mess here when he's in a jail cell right now or being interrogated... all by his lonesome :( :( god I miss him
I quit.
Maybe I'm just too independent to be in a relationship. I know I've always got me so I never rely on anyone else. I make decisions about my own job and education choices and I'm supposed to feel guilty because I didn't share it with you before hand so you can tell me no then. And then you have to nerve to try and tell me what I'm going to do when it's already something I was doing?!? Gtfo. I trust myself, I guess it's crazy to expect my partner to trust me too.
