1.21.17 women’s march on washington. *STILL. a fact based observational protest sign from what was a truly a day in the life. /// i have talked about with you guys before about how we were in tokyo on the day everything changed. election day november 8th 2016. here we are today almost 730 days later and then some 650+ days and *STILL. i was not raised to hate the KLAN i was not indoctrinated i KNEW always and forever FUCK THE KKK. i ended up involved in a scene and a community that would embrace and stand up against that sort of shit. like minded individuals not always the most well thought out but generally well meaning. it was easy to be anti klan anti fascist anti racist anti naxi. but among that same group and same scene misogyny (ingrained prejudice against women and that’s the most polite definition) was a lot more accepted tolerated and ignored. it is something i continue to learn and understand better and differently through life. sadly i live and exist in a world day to day especially of the 40 hours a week kind where misogyny is normalized and completely accepted. i address this struggle often enough in therapy but still it is not an easy thing for me to accept and cope with. i don’t imagine the election days of our futures are going to be any less difficult to endure but we are going to have to endure them always and forever. #womensmarchonwashington #womensmarch2017 #fucktheklan #fuckmisogyny #november6th2018 (at The Mall (Washington DC)) https://www.instagram.com/myphotographslie/p/Bp2UdXylvvI/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1r1prwji876lm
