I got dragged as “lol white feminist” by so many commenters on my jane foster defense post from a couple years ago (after feige said his dumb shit). People here are so stupid.

OK, cool, thanks for confirmation. You’re a bad, racist White Feminist if you’re defending a white woman from sexism, even if the sexist in question -- like Kevin Feige -- is also white. Though maybe you stepped into racism because Feige’s views were in line with Taika’s, or because he was elevating Valkyrie over Jane (even if he was appealing to sexist tropes to do so)?

Just checking: is it also bad White Feminism to defend Captain Marvel/ Brie Larson against men who tell her she should smile more, or is it OK because she’s not “in competition” with a WOC? Since we’ve ascertained that pointing out the sexism of the assumption that women must always be in competition with each other is racist if one is white and the other is a WOC; the only acceptable outcome is for the WOC to “win.”

Fortunately I’ve taught all my courses but Stat before and done prep during the summer, so honestly the prep part of this week is pretty simple. I’m thinking more about which comics to decorate my room with than anything else ;)

Honestly I’d be so much more panicked rn if Squee hadn’t been an actual hero and helped me troubleshoot how to make class happen on Thursday. Now it’s expensive and kind of a pain for a few days but gdi I can make it work.
