“The daily routine of most adults is so heavy and artificial that we are closed off to much of the world. We have to do this in order to get our work done. I think one purpose of art is to get us out of those routines. When we hear music or poetry or stories, the world opens up again. We’re drawn in — or out — and the windows of our perception are cleansed, as William Blake said. The same thing can happen when we’re around young children or adults who have unlearned those habits of shutting the world out.”
— Ursula K. Le Guin
Shoutout to my favorite genre of TOS episode:
This was based on somthing I saw that I lost and now I feel bad :(
And what do I owe you in return?
harry kim gets janeway a birthday gift. he’s very proud, wraps it in a bow and everything. she opens it in her ready room.
it’s a black t-shirt with bad graphic art of a wolf howling at the moon and it says “throw me to the wolves and I’ll come back leading the pack”. you know, the kind of thing boomer dads that imagine themselves protectors eat up.
she loves it. has to wipe a tear from her eye. it becomes the new pajama shirt. kathryn Janeway working until two in the morning in her quarters in the stupid wolf shirt with a mug that says “quadrant’s best captain” on it.
Concept: cursed blade rehabilitation center. Destroying a sentient weapon is expensive and highly unethical, so adventurers bring them to the center where highly trained staff can care for them and eventually find them forever homes. It turns out most cursed weapons are products of trauma and are not strictly evil themselves. Some blades turn out to be fiercely protective companions. Others don't even want to be weapons at all, finding joy in simple work like blacksmithing or farming. Most blades just need to be loved.
A pack of bandits descend upon a seemingly undefended town. But the blacksmith's hammer, the farmer's scythe, the woodsman's axe, they have not forgotten what they once were, and they *will* defend the town that they have come to love.
This sweet girl has been with us for seven seasons. She was forged in the heart of a volcano and would be ideal for anyone with a preexisting fire affinity (she's a cuddler and is guaranteed to keep you warm in winter). She still loves burning, but it turns out you can only reduce the world to ash once. She would be perfectly suited for forest management that regularly requires controlled burns.
This weary old soul has grown tired of bloodshed and would much rather spend his days as an ominous decoration in a tavern or common room, a perfect fit for an adventurer looking to leave their dungeon crawling days behind. He likes peoplewatching with his single glowing eye, preferably from high, prominent locations with views of entrances and exits.
Dark king Grütmore’s edge of annihilation consumed 10,000 souls in the first era, and as it turns out, statistically a lot of those souls heard stories that never got written down. It works in a library now.
The throngler, however, is just irrevocably fucked up. We put it in a stone in a forest and hoped nobody ever finds it

So lovely and tender
If you make goth clothing, decor, accessories, etc
please
please please please
please stop putting crosses on literally everything.
I know that they're a staple of goth fashion. I know. But not everyone is Christian. Not everyone wants to wear or surround themselves with Christian symbols. There are a lot of goths who would die happy if we they never had to see a cross again. Please.
This really resonated with folks, huh.
We should fix this and start saying "stupible"
tag yourself i'm stupific
Why yes, that was Mayor Mamdani’s beloved Students for Justice in Palestine who just praised burning a Holocaust survivor to death in Colorado as “resistance”.
If you can’t see how their condoning terrorism and murder is a threat to all Americans, you have lost touch with decency and humanity.
thinking a lot about oswald's "no one does what you did and lives" line in s3 because obviously he's talking about ed shooting him but what if he's ALSO talking about the D1 ragebaiting that ed pulled off by making heart eyes at oswald for the better part of a year and then standing him up on their first date because he had one nice conversation with a girl
this literally happened to edward nygma
Cannot stand the trend of censoring any and all words that describe concepts that might make you go :( especially when the censoring is done in that quarter-assed way that's just 'did a lil scribble over a vowel so you know that I know this word describes a no-no."
I'm not even going to be vague about what sparked this. Do not fucking censor the word 'stole.' I'm at my fucking limit.
Who does this benefit. Who is made safer by this. Whose life is made better by this. Who is out there going "Wow I sure am glad I didn't have to see that word without it scribbled on a little. That really reduced the emotional impact of reading that word." Can I kill them?
