I was tagged by fuckyeahsherlolly. Not tagging anyone because I can't be arsed to come up with questions of my own.
1. What made you ship sherlolly in the first place? (If it was a fic, which one was it?)
Longer than the Road that Stretches Out Ahead by sunken_standard. It's just some really good damned writing. I don't think I've read anything that's gotten Sherlock's possible internal monologue so well. And it's just fucking lovely. (Read the rest of their stuff while you're at it.)
2. What is your fave sherlolly fanfic? I’m referring to the one you’ve probably re-read a few times and find yourself recommending?
See above.
3. Do you have any techniques you utilize before writing? Like do you brew a cup of tea, send a plea to your muse, read something, listen to music, etc?
I really don't other than making sure I'm in a comfortable spot. If it's a WIP I haven't updated in awhile I read the whole thing again or at least the last few chapters.
4. What made you want to write fan-fiction in the first place?
I was intrigued by the dynamic between Sally and Sherlock and oops Six Underground happened.
5. When you come across writers-block, what do you usually do to overcome it?
I take prompts for 100 word drabbles or 221b ficlets.
6. What’s your personal favourite of your own work, and why?
I will always have a soft spot for the Post Mortem series, since they were the first Sherlolly fics I wrote, and That Dear Perfection because dammit, it's a novel. That I wrote. And sometimes I go back and read chapters and I'm actually impressed with the writing. (The Christmas Eve chapter is my favorite.)
7. What sort of reviews do you find encouraging?
When people say that it's super in character or in universe and when they compliment things I am insecure about like metaphors.
8. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve written OOC what do you do to get back on the right track?
I say things out loud and I try to picture the character saying or doing something.
But honestly, I think that characters can do almost anything if you lay the foundation for those actions in a story.
9: Outside of sherlolly what other pairings do you ship, and which one of those have you considered writing for?
Sherlock/Sally, Irene/Sherlock, Irene/Molly, Irene/Molly/Sherlock, Donovan/Lestrade, Sherlock/Lestrade. I think I've written at least one thing for all of them.
10: If you read fan-fiction, what are you usually looking for? Generally, what do you commonly read and why?
It depends on my mood. Sometimes it's all about PWP, other times it's about UST and a slow burn establishing a relationship and sometimes it's all about sweet already established domesticity and intimacy. Though I'm always looking for dialogue that is true to the character voice. Also, good characterization for the women. I will nope out of a fic so fast if Sally is portrayed as a one dimensional harridan. I'm also kind of picky about Mycroft's characterization.
I'm usually not into parentlock or too much fluff. Also really not into stories where Molly is saved from an abusive relationship. I've only seen it done realistically once.
I'm a sucker for angst as long as it ends in a good place.
Every time morbidmegz or fuckyeahsherlolly reblogs/likes one of my stories I feel like I'm being baptized by Christ himself djiskciasoaix
