I dunno what I ate last night but it gave me one of the most vivid YGO dreams I had in a while. The dream had 'me' as Kaiba's maid from the manga, only she had a name, Himeko, and apparently left his service in favor of Pegasus a la Kemo. It started as a retelling of sorts of Duelist Kingdom where some characters were aware of canon events--I think Rex, Weevil, and Keith were--and started to go off-rails when Joey's final turn against Keith came down to a ref call and Fuguta (yeah he was there too) called in Joey's favor. (There was also some disbelief that the tournament only lasted 2 days, with people wondering how Yugi's mom was talked into letting her son go on such danger--maybe he told her about Grandpa's soul?)
This upset Bandit Keith majorly and he not only attacked Fuguta but also Pegasus, choking him and postponing the tournament finals before he was subdued. I don't remember how it ended, per se, but the dream picked up around the Legendary Heroes arc, and Pegasus was openly consulting with the Big Five on the titular game, how it worked, and how to trap Kaiba, making the comparison that 'what if a machine could imitate the process of an Ancient Egyptian artifact' and Gansley asked him what his real plan was. XD They had kidnapped Mokuba to stop him interfering but he escaped and warned Yugi and pals.
The world of the game had changed some, too-- if you entered without safety protocols your memories were erased and you overrode a character like you were 'always' that person, and you could potentially live your whole life there without ever realizing cause they put in 'real' food, books that taught trades in the medieval era the game was going for, plus Duel Monsters stuff--and if you got out of line the technicians could 'reboot' the character/item with special equipment. I remember encountering Mai and comparing her to a Harpie Lady, and she complimented me and I blushed. <3 She said something about the Harpie archetype reminding her of her younger sister, who lived free as a bird, and wanted that for herself too.
The dream kinda skipped ahead again and Yugi and his friends were all inside the game--Tea, Tristan, and Ryou were too; IIRC Tea was like her Monster World sorceress class, Tristan was a knight, and Ryou was protected from the memory alterations by the Ring and was himself, but was very excited about the game and how it played and stuff. I remember Tea helping the maids clean the castle but I think it was a ploy to gain their trust/information...which Himeko fell for XD
The last thing I remember before waking up was Pegasus inviting his estranged father into the game world (his name was Sanji James Crawford), swapping bodies with him (he still hadn't recovered from Keith's attack and his dad was healthy), and disconnecting his father's data. The last part was Himeko's thoughts: "Maximillion Pegasus would never see his father's face again except in the corner of his own smile."
