4 years later and 65000km odd we made it from the USA to Puerto Natales. Nope we didn't ride the last 700km to Ushaia for the selfie. 😁 - To dates we didn't pay any bribes or were asked for any. We only had good experiences with police and most borders. - Is it safe? Generally yes. Want to hit more likes, drama and fame you sure can go into unsafe areas, which is obviously a stupid consideration. But the entire route from the USA down is relatively safe even for solo women travelling. Same goes travelling anywhere in the world, use common sense. - The majority of people we had interactions with daily were friendly and helpful. - As for available time to travel, anything less than 6-8months is a waste of time and just a passport stamp run and you will sit on highways most of the time. There's so much to see and experience in these countries try and plan in stages. Rather do some countries properly than rushing the lot of them. - Money, it can be done on a tight budget but its better to save up a bit more for some indulgence when wanting to go see some of the highlights. Breakages and repairs are a given so that must be added.
